Hi Everyone!!! First off, this is a great forum and has been very informative to me.
However, I have a specific question about a stone:
- This stone is at a very high end manufacturer that you would know if I mentioned the family name.
- It has been represented to me as an extremely rare cut as it is shallow, bright, and very asscher like THE STONE HAS EARNED a "IDEAL" RANKING with their signature embelem
- It came from a very large stone and was the smaller part section of the natural double pyramid shape raw stone, and hence has interesting dimensions
- I do trust this Jeweler by their reputation and longevity.... but....
Here are the specs (question at the bottom)
Square Emerald Cut
2.60ct
4 Steps on the Pavillion
3 steps on the Crown
8.24mm x 8.23 mm x 4.50
D
SI1
VG/VG/None
61% Table
55% Depth
CAN a 55% asscher like cut be considered good? (Note I am asking is it possible, not is it the ideal cut, or normal cut)
It is a gorgeous stone with nice large cropped corners, has the repeating squares, the windmill pattern, etc.... from the top it looks like a full 3ct stone.
It is priced at ~$10,500/ct which i think is a very good value
Thoughts?
Best,
