I looked at 7 different asschers today and I wasn''t pleased with any of them. I really liked the cut of one of them, but it seemed dark to me. My question is, what is a reasonable expectation when looking at an asscher. I looked at one that was a horrible cut, but it had significant light return. The best way to describe it is that the diamond looked like it had a brighter bulb inside the diamond than others. The one I like looks really good, but I wonder if there is too much light leakage. I looked through the IS and I can see right through the bottom of it for a portion of the table. It is somewhat disappointing, but I''m not sure if I have unrealistic expectations. Naturally, diamond sellers want to push you into buying the diamond, but I''m trying to figure out if I''m off base. Any suggestions you have would be much appreciated.
I wanted to make it to GOG while I am in NY, but it is a significant drive from where I am. ERD was good, but the stones I saw were not spectacular by any means. Let me know what you guys think, I''m trying to determine whether I should buy the one that was slightly darker. Everything else looked great. The specs are below for those that are interested.
