Keep us poted!

What Skippy said! And pics!! We need pics!

Exciting indeed, hoping you love it. Please show us the pics once you get them!!

Can''t wait to see this beauty! Love the Royal Asscher!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh. Love RAs. LOTS of pics please. LOTs. And congrats!

Mark got the stone in today, he said it was very nice and will get me some pictures either later tonight or tomorrow. Specs look nice if a little deep but seems to face up about the same size as most 1.5 stones that showed up in the PS search.

Ooooh, can''t wait to see it! I didn''t know Mark had access to RAs. Yummmm! Strmdr will likely ask what the crown height is as well, so see if Mark can get that % for you.

The stone is an early RA circa 2001; my guess is a trade in or something similar.

RA 54% table with that depth the crown height is more than likely fine I wouldn't worry about it.
If the report is from 2001 have Mark check it for damage and having a new report done isn't a bad idea. Talk it over with Mark.
I'm looking forward to the pictures.

I asked about damage as I was concerned about it, also when I found the listing I was a bit skeptical of it being a Royal. He said there wasn''t any damage and that it was a very nice stone, said he doesn''t get to see very many Royal Asschers. I was tempted to just buy it w/out seeing any pictures after he said it had no damage.

Thanks Strmrdr, One of the reasons I feel comfortable with buying the stone w/out seeing it is because it a Royal Asscher. I was about to quit looking for a Royal and go generic but this one popped up.

Out of curiosity how does one go about having a stone regraded, what are the benefits? This stone could go down in polish, clarity and color and the price would still be great for a generic much less a Royal Asscher.

It all depends on what your comfort level is.
Having it regraded would just mean sending it to GIA paying for a report and waiting.
All RA''s are inscribed with the RA logo on the girdle.

Not a great picture but here goes...

Sarin report. Think I''m gonna call tomorrow morning and pay for it and hopefully get it Friday.

It's always tough to judge by Mark (or Garry's) photos, but it looks like it's got some nice fire with that small table and 18% crown height. I'm excited for you! I don't know how to read the Sarin #'s but I'll keep my fingers crossed that Strm gives it a "kicken" before tomorrow morning!

looks kicken to me.
Congrates!

OoooOOOooo!!! It''s SWOOONIFUL!!!

I love it! I''m so jealous of RA owners!!! Those nice big windmills! The tiny tables coupled with the crown height! The steps!!!

I hope you go for it!

WOOOO HOOOO, you have a winner!

Thanks Strmrdr, Pixley and NewEnglandLady. The bit I can discern from the picture I like, overall shape etc...
Getting the crown height made me feel a bit better, not sure why - maybe too focused on numbers. I''m putting my faith in Mark and the fact that the Royal Asschers I''ve seen have all been awesome.

Still can''t believe I found it for the price, needle in the haystack type of thing.

Strmrdr, just curious if it is possible to model a diamond from sarin numbers?

No because they are not all that accurate and don''t have all the angles.
The only useful number in the sarin report is the crown height.
Look at the sarin table size and compare it to the gia report and that is just the beginning of the problem.
pictures rule and numbers drool.

Oh WOW. That is a lovely stone. Please, when you get it can you take some pics and post them for us??? I''d love to see more of that beautiful RA. Congrats! That is definitely a nice find!

I still won''t believe it until I have it in my hands
