Hello All,

Wondering if this diamond has an ok ASET image?

It is a GIA 1.6 ct. H, SI2. It has an excellent cut and polish, but the symmetry is just very good, which bothers me some. It scores a 1.7 on the HCA tool. Really need some second thoughts on whether or not this might be a good option.

Again not to crazy about the symmetry and the measurements of 7.38-7.48 x 4.63, but the gemologist says its a beauty and its within my price range. I am going to see it tomorrow and want to go in prepared. I know its not the perfect diamond, but I just want something of similar size that is bright and has a lot of fire.

Other measurements:
Depth: 62.4
Table: 57
Crown: 36
Pav: 40.6

Ideal scope is better for rounds. Is there a reason you got an ASET instead?

I am not sure if the jeweler had an idealscope in the store. It is a brick and mortar where I live.

It has a fair bit more reflected light (green) than you would see in super ideal ASETS. I think it's an above average stone though.

I think it depends on the price. How good is the price for it's stats?

thanks for your help!

The price is $10,500...that seem decent? sorry for the questions, i don't want to make a poor choice

Price is okay. It is a bit deep. And at that weight really should face up at 7.5mm. Is it eyeclean?

If it's eyeclean, I think you are getting a good diamond for a decent price.

it should be completely eye clean, the only inclusions are some twinning wisps near the sides of the diamond. But, I will follow up tomorrow after I see it.

saw the diamond yesterday, and it is a beauty! thanks for the help!

I think it's worth buying if you love it. Does it have a decent return policy just in case?

30 days. I am going again today to look at it as I saw it on a very bright and sunny day. Today is cloudy and overcast. So, we shall see how it performs today.

I think I read somewhere regarding the HCA and how slightly deeper stones have more fire but are a bit less bright. I think these were called Bright Ideal Cut and Firey Ideal Cut (deeper stones). This is actually perfect for me, as I prefer diamonds to have a very firey appearance rather than just pure brightness.
