Is a 35.5 crown angle way too steep for a 40.8 Pavillion angle ? How about this ASET image ? Is it terrible ?

That ASET is a good illustration of why we generally recommend the crown angle to be 34-35.0 with pav angles of 40.6-41.0. If the pav angle was more like 40.6, it might be better, but not at 40.8. You see a ring of leakage around the center. That probably is not a bad stone, but I would want one with a better ASET if I were spending thousands of dollars.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I'm still trying to understand all of this but from what all I have read here I thought it was a little off. I do see the ring and I agree with wanting the best when dropping thousands of dollars. That's why I've been researching and searching for the past two weeks instead of just buying from looks at a B&M store.... Would you say that the following ASET is better and therefore a better choice between the two ? I know the clarity is a lot worse but it has been confirmed eye clean. Thanks for your help

What are the crown/pavilion angles of this stone? The images look much better than the first stone you posted!

Oh, sorry about that. 34 and 40.8

Yes, it does look better in terms of cut (ASET), but I really would not recommend a stone that has black inclusions in the center. Keep looking. There are a lot of diamonds out there!
