Exactly this - when they go to sell any high end one of a kind gemstones, diamonds and jewellery pieces will all be catalogued and possibly photographed and recognisable so unless they plan to recut to hide them no clue how they are going to resell it all.

Thought the same... they were so many people, then you have an investment beforehand ( kalaschnikoffs and ski masks come to mind ) and the resale value is MAX 20% - well, guessing, but when I see that legally bought bling goes for - 50% or less, I can only guess that it's a lot worse for illegal recognizable stuff.

So that leaves roughly 1 m for 5 people( that the police talked about)... not exactly comfortable... more of a "don't quit your day job" scenario...
Eta:can't buy more than a studio in Paris for that money (200 k €) btw...
