We are a couple of old cynics when it comes to V day. It is our wedding anniversary in March though, so I will save my giant hints and 'oops, I accidentaly emailed you this' for then.
This was my favorite post so far. That's so fun. My husband and I both don't really care for getting or giving cards--ever. We just don't get it. Anyway, we occasionally give each other cards that make no sense or are tacky/goofy. This could be our new valentines thing.
Lottie, I always thought that the giant, two-feet-tall V-day cards were kind of funny. Maybe someday you can give your DH a giant version of the Cliff Richard singing card!
DaintyG - great suggestion. Funnily enough I did linger over a nearly two foot satin padded card with teddy bears kissing, but what finally won the day was a big photo card which had Barbie sat in Kens lap on a romantic picnic complete with hamper and wine. Its so creepy, I think I definately beat Mr L's card which had a lovestruck anteater on the front. Next year I think I will go with a giant card.

At first I was a bit skeptical because I have to park in the street and I can't do laundry at home, but he's handling those things for me so its much appreciated. He also tried to make cookies yesterday, but they didn't work out. The boy's heart is in the right place, but he's just not a good cook. He did realize that they probably wouldn't be edible so he bought me a box of cupcakes from my favorite bakery "just in case." All in all a very thoughtful guy!
I got up early to make him chocolate chip banana pancakes. We'd agreed not to buy each other presents so I didn't realize he had so much planned!
Hi Bliss! That is hilarious that Yekutiel was silent on the whole matter of replacing your necklace. I'm sure you were like what the heck!?! Did ID jewelry run out of diamonds?!? I'd love to see pics of the "replacement." Maybe I should head to NYC and dig through your garbage, Bliss. All kidding aside, I'm sure you were heartbroken to have lost such a piece.Bliss|1329273434|3126440 said:Tigian!!!! Maui???!!! You had the best Vday ever!!!!!!! Usually the box had something cheesy attached to it like a teddy bear or doll, which of course I thought was the best. thing. ever. He still gives me Valentines and chocolates to this day and I'm 34. It's just always been a sweet tradition for us, and whether I've been single or not, I could always count on my dad to come through on that day.

The past couple years it's been a Pandora charm--today he gave me the baby carriage charm and another cute silver one. I took the day off; he worked until 3, and we went to a little restaurant for a late lunch to avoid any crowds. It worked out perfectly--I even ordered a Queen of Hearts calzone (filled with artichoke hearts/mushrooms/tomatoes and of course a ton of cheese--the perfect Valentine's Day lunch, haha)! I gave him heart shaped Reese's peanut butter cups and a homemade Valentine, and later I'm making his favorite eggplant parmesan and for dessert heart-shaped cupcakes. I think he is secretly starting to not hate Valentine's Day!

Tigian, I wanna go to Maui with you and your DH!!!!!!! ROFLMBO at IDJ running out of diamonds!!! You are the queen of Vday with Hawaii romance!!!! So jealous!
Here is a pic of the DBTY from IDJ! So funny!!! I suspected something might be up when Yekutiel mysteriously went MIA when I inquired about a replacement. SO unlike him! Ha ha! So I immediately thought something was up. Plus, I caught DH trying not to smile when I would sigh and say that I missed it. I actually like it more than my WF DBTY necklace - and it matches well with my Tiffany DBTY, too! A lesson to all ladies: never wrap your jewelry in tissue paper because if you are a dingbat like me, you will chuck it later. I don't insure my smaller pieces so this was a wash.I am so happy to have this necklace back and in a better form!!! This one is blingier and I feel it is more sparkly, too!
Here it is being modeled with AthenaWorth's .90 OEC. Thanks again to the lovely and amazing Athenaworth!![]()
