are you expecting any V Day blings or

Wow, nice about Maui!!! My neighbor is going too! hmmm, maybe I need to go ;)) Enjoy!!!

BLISS, that is awesome about the piano, do you play?

My hubby's birthday was last week so i like Valentine's kind of chill! hehe

I got beautiful Tiffany silver earrings!!

Very simple and perfect for everyday. They go beautifully with my Tiffany Locks bangle that I got for Christmas and my Locks necklace bought for my birthday on 30th Dec. Both from my wonderful DH.

But the best present came a bit later in the day. I got THE most BEAUTIFUL baby niece!!! Welcome to the world, Elya.

Happy Birthday, my beautiful girl. A date we will never forget!! :praise: :praise: :praise: :praise: :praise:

Edited to actually make sense!

No bling, woke up to breakfast in bed (pancakes, strawberries and apple juice), a lovely rose and a card. We decided not to exchange gifts this time. Anyway, he humours me even if he thinks it's commercial :)

No bling but he did rent a hot tub for the week and set it up in the garage. At first I was a bit skeptical because I have to park in the street and I can't do laundry at home, but he's handling those things for me so its much appreciated. He also tried to make cookies yesterday, but they didn't work out. The boy's heart is in the right place, but he's just not a good cook. He did realize that they probably wouldn't be edible so he bought me a box of cupcakes from my favorite bakery "just in case." All in all a very thoughtful guy!

I got up early to make him chocolate chip banana pancakes. We'd agreed not to buy each other presents so I didn't realize he had so much planned!

OMG!!!!!!! You have one amazing hubby Bliss! Of course you deserve it, you're such an beautiful, wonderful person!!!!! And, er... *cough*pics?! :Up_to_something:

susimoo, congratulations on the earrings, but a baby niece??? What an awesome Valentine's Day pressie!!!!!!!! I bet she's the most beautful little thing!

Oooh tigian, Maui!! How lucky are you?!?! =)

That sounds so lovely Deia, breaky in bed! I'd love that if I wasn't so messy, DH would need to put a tarp underneath me

No, we always have a competition to see who can find the tackiest, most hideous Vaentines card (I am the longstanding winner with a Cliff Richard singing card) and then carry on as usual. We are a couple of old cynics when it comes to V day. It is our wedding anniversary in March though, so I will save my giant hints and 'oops, I accidentaly emailed you this' for then.

This was my favorite post so far. That's so fun. My husband and I both don't really care for getting or giving cards--ever. We just don't get it. Anyway, we occasionally give each other cards that make no sense or are tacky/goofy. This could be our new valentines thing.

Lottie, I always thought that the giant, two-feet-tall V-day cards were kind of funny. Maybe someday you can give your DH a giant version of the Cliff Richard singing card!

DaintyG - great suggestion. Funnily enough I did linger over a nearly two foot satin padded card with teddy bears kissing, but what finally won the day was a big photo card which had Barbie sat in Kens lap on a romantic picnic complete with hamper and wine. Its so creepy, I think I definately beat Mr L's card which had a lovestruck anteater on the front. Next year I think I will go with a giant card.

love it!

Bliss I love all your lovely bling ,any pics of the new IDJ necklace ?

I got a gorgeous arrangement of white hydrangeas, pale pink roses and lilac cymbidium orchids created by my friend katie, the florist. Her arrangements are works of art!!! http://stemsbykate.com/ I also got some reeses peanut butter hearts :lickout: and we cooked a lovely dinner of ribeye and wedge salad. I set the table with the flowers and candles and it was very sweet.

I overheard him on the phone yesterday and i think he was ordering something from the jeweler for my bday on the 24th!!! :appl: I'm betting on a charm bracelet charm--always a good go-to gift for me!

That is so cute of him!

Tuffyluvr - your friend does amazing arrangements. I love the red roses and apples centerpiece - unusual and so lovely.

Tigian!!!! Maui???!!! You had the best Vday ever!!!!!!! Looking forward to that is almost as much fun. I love Hawaii!!!!!!!! We used to go very year until we had a kid. I envy you!!!!!!!! Awwwww how nice!!!!! Wonderful!!!
Hi Bliss! That is hilarious that Yekutiel was silent on the whole matter of replacing your necklace. I'm sure you were like what the heck!?! Did ID jewelry run out of diamonds?!? I'd love to see pics of the "replacement." Maybe I should head to NYC and dig through your garbage, Bliss. All kidding aside, I'm sure you were heartbroken to have lost such a piece.

i: I am indeed a lucky duck....soooo lucky to be taking some time off in the middle of February...feels very luxurious. Thanks for the well wishes!

Skippy, DandiAndi and jeweln... sounds like you all had great days, too! Next year I want a heart shaped pizza!!!!! I'm going to open it and say, "Come to MAMA!" Hahahahaha!!!!

Tigian, I wanna go to Maui with you and your DH!!!!!!! ROFLMBO at IDJ running out of diamonds!!! You are the queen of Vday with Hawaii romance!!!! So jealous!

Here is a pic of the DBTY from IDJ! So funny!!! I suspected something might be up when Yekutiel mysteriously went MIA when I inquired about a replacement. SO unlike him! Ha ha! So I immediately thought something was up. Plus, I caught DH trying not to smile when I would sigh and say that I missed it. I actually like it more than my WF DBTY necklace - and it matches well with my Tiffany DBTY, too! A lesson to all ladies: never wrap your jewelry in tissue paper because if you are a dingbat like me, you will chuck it later. I don't insure my smaller pieces so this was a wash. :knockout: I am so happy to have this necklace back and in a better form!!! This one is blingier and I feel it is more sparkly, too!

Here it is being modeled with AthenaWorth's .90 OEC. Thanks again to the lovely and amazing Athenaworth! :appl:

I was a little confused because I was trying to find references to jewelry in Bliss's posts and didn't see anything.
Beautiful!
I love the layered look.

I love Valentine's Day! When I was growing up, my dad always gave me a sweet Valentine card and a heart-shaped box of chocolates. Usually the box had something cheesy attached to it like a teddy bear or doll, which of course I thought was the best. thing. ever. He still gives me Valentines and chocolates to this day and I'm 34. It's just always been a sweet tradition for us, and whether I've been single or not, I could always count on my dad to come through on that day.

My husband isn't a believer in V-day, but since he knows it's a holiday I love to celebrate he goes out of his way to spend extra quality time with me and gives me a little gift. The past couple years it's been a Pandora charm--today he gave me the baby carriage charm and another cute silver one. I took the day off; he worked until 3, and we went to a little restaurant for a late lunch to avoid any crowds. It worked out perfectly--I even ordered a Queen of Hearts calzone (filled with artichoke hearts/mushrooms/tomatoes and of course a ton of cheese--the perfect Valentine's Day lunch, haha)! I gave him heart shaped Reese's peanut butter cups and a homemade Valentine, and later I'm making his favorite eggplant parmesan and for dessert heart-shaped cupcakes. I think he is secretly starting to not hate Valentine's Day!

Oh Monarch!!! You are so lucky to have had such a thoughtful and loving father!!!! I envy you!

We ended up going to Chilis for dinner--very low key and non-celebratory. Our kid works there part time and we generally get a nice F&F discount.

Bliss your new IDJ DBTY necklace is fabulous , needs a new thread in SMTB ! the OEC bezel is beautiful too ,wear them in good health .

We don't really celebrate V-Day. Some years he'll bring me flowers, other years a card, and other years nothing at all. I don't expect anything so if he does bring me something, it's a nice surprise. This year, we took the kids out to a great restaurant in town, but we didn't specifically "dedicate" it to V-Day....we just enjoyed a nice meal together.

I got him a recliner. I got in time for the Superbowl. Usually I just buy him chocolate--and dress up in red lingerie when the kids are out of the way.

He likes the recliner.

My dad (who is dead) used to send me amazing flowers for Valentine's Day and my hubby used to send modest (by comparison) bouquets. My dad also used to send teddy bears, candy and other lovely presents (not just for Valentine's Day but for mother's day, my birthday, our anniversary, etc. etc.) Hubby would get me something but it would be lowkey in comparison. Then when my dad died, my husband started sending me gigantic bouquets and stuff too, to cheer me up (he knew that I missed my dad on all the holidays since I was a daddy's girl and quite spoiled). then I found out what those flowers COST. I said I'd rather have bling. So he usually gives me a check to buy bling with, along with a card. I got one this year but I'm not buying until later in the year as I tend to save the checks up to get something bigger. I don't know if others would think its romantic to get a check, but I like it and my husband like avoiding the shopping.

Actually, to be accurate, I gave him the money for the recliner also--and he picked it out and ordered it. I would have had no idea which one he wanted. It's rather nice. You can lean back in it, of course, but it also gives you a massage. and he liked the superbowl this year, his team won.

Well, I wasn't expecting any V-day bling, but ended up buying myself not one but TWO bling presents

DH said that's it for a loooooooong time, but I am thrilled:-) The RHR was basically my Vday gift, and the pendant stone was just an awesome deal that fell from the skies :cheeky:

Thanks to ebay, I have a gorgeous new RHR and the stone for an upgraded pendant.

BLiss, your necklace is GORGEOUS!!!
