Are you bored? Great! I need your help. :naughty:

Love the asscher, but finding a decent performing stone has proved to be difficult.
BG, GOG, WF, etc. seems to have some but limited inventory.

Ideally its a 2.5 / D-G / 40k / with great optic.
One contender I like is the 2.38 Octavia. Although I feel since its so deep the G will show in certain lighting.
Since prices have increased so much, having a stone to get that coverage is tough.

Help!?

No the G will not show in any lighting with that stone. It will be gorgeously white. Those stones are cut for maximum light return and will mask even the VERY faint body color of a G. I wouldn't worry about that AT ALL.

The only stone I can find that might be able to give that Octavia some competition in terms of performance is this one: http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/H-VS1-Ideal-Cut-Asscher-Diamond-1362108.asp but if you are worried about the G, this one is an H. I think your best bet is the Octavia. That said, this H has a lot of potential and is larger, and JA has a fabulous return policy and you can get it in person and see what you think of it. If you do want to consider it, ask them for an ASET image of the stone.

i'll take the Octavia :!:

The Octavia.

HI:

No longer interested in a RB/ACA?

Interesting... With an increase of .64 carat it is only a .21mm difference in coverage.

So this 3.02 stone is marginally larger than a 2.38.
This will prove to be very very expensive, very very quick! Sigh...

Exactly. Like I said, I think the Octavia is still your best bet.

The brilliance from any optimally cut hearts and arrows is amazing, but find the asscher is another beast in itself. I have not ruled it out entirely if a bargain were to be found.

Octavia! And remember to post pictures when you get it!

I'd love the Octavia, but Jonathan at Good Old Gold is excellent at sourcing great asschers. Just because one is not listed on his site doesn't mean he can't get a couple of nice ones in for you to look at. He'll run his tests on them to be sure they have good light return, etc. and shoot a video for you comparing the stones. I'd just call him if I was looking for any fancy cut stone.

^I don't know too much about asschers, but man this is a pretty stone, Gypsy!
