how many traffic tickets have you received in your lifetime?...

Zero tickets ever. I've had my license for 21 years.

One ticket for failure to grant the right of way after an accident. It was a $150 ticket, went to court to fight it and got it reduced to $35.

Cool thread DF.
Does a number of tickets one has gotten necessarily indicate if they are a good driver or a bad driver?
If so, I'm dead in this competition. I've only ever gotten a ticket for one thing...but a few of those over the years.
I have never been a reckless driver but I have been caught in speed traps over the years.
And it has been four years since my last one. Driving 53mph in a 40 zone. The 40 having been a 50 the week prior. They'd just changed the speed limit in that spot in the West Side Hwy.

I'd have to admit to at least 5 speeding tickets in the (ahem) 41+ years I've been driving. In four different states.
But I am alive after a whole lotta miles, so there's that....

Never had a ticket since getting my license and have never been in an accident while personally driving.

Better record than my father, although nearly all of his accidents have occurred on the race track during his years as a national champion race car driver so being amazing behind the wheel of a car is in our genes I suppose

NO!

Everyone drives us anyway. Our car; uber; friends, everyone!

I have been driving since 12, maybe before.

I havn't had aticket norcollision for 17 years.

A few, but I live and commute in NY so the cops are EVERYWHERE. Once when I was a teen visiting a friend in college, NYS all the way upstate, I was pulled over for speeding but the cop gave me a very expensive stop sign ticket instead (no points). Once in Brooklyn for cell phone (it was on speaker and I was yelling at fedex, now I have one of those mount things). Several red light and two speed zones (no signs posted yet, whatever). At least I never got more than one of those trap tickets at the same spot twice! With that said after 16 years of driving daily in NY I have NEVER been in an accident where I was at fault (one accident but it was a side swipe hit and run so not my fault) so I think I'm doing pretty well over all!

3, since gaining my licence in 1993.

One for speeding on a dual carriageway in 2004; one for speeding on a motorway in 2009; and one for using a bus lane at the wrong time in 2011.

DK :))

2. One for driving unregistered which was appealed & thrown out ( I really didn't know it had expired....) and one speeding which was contested & reduced. Both over 20 years ago.

One speeding ticket 34 years ago (on my way to collect DH and tell him I was pregnant), no accidents that were my fault, been hit by a few careless drivers, but fortunately they weren't serious.

I would say I'm a very good driver, and a whizz at parking :D

One parking ticket. One accident. All in my earlier years so I think I just needed more experience. I'll have to say though that I'm terrible at parallel parking to the point that I just need to find a big spot to pull into it. There isn't much of a need to parallel park where I live but it still makes me nervous that I lack the skill!

Since my accident though (over 10 years ago), I'm still a nervous driver if there is someone in the car with me. When given the option, I'll always ask to ride instead of drive. Keeping a conversation and not being to focus on driving and being a defensive driver isn't my strong suit. Thank goodness for google maps though. Having navigation has made things easier!

I feel this thread jinxed me. Lol! I made a bad judgement call yesterday about my ability to fully stop in time, and I basically ran a red light. Time will tell. If there was a camera there, I will be getting a $350 ticket in the mail. The photo would definitely show me mouthing OH SH!T. Maybe I shouldn't be driving.:saint:

I am good at driving other drivers nuts.
I've had my license since 2003 and haven't gotten a ticket yet.

Dancing Fire, what's your driving record like?

Or do you have a chauffeur? Chauffeurs?

One - driving 5 miles over speed limit. 33 years ago!!! And, I must say that I deserved it. However, I learned from my mistake.

I'm not a great driver lol. I've only ever gotten 1 [speeding] ticket, but I've been in 3 fender-benders.
H has gotten like 5 speeding tickets, but I'd still consider him a good driver. Just a willfully disobedient one XD

No. I am not a good driver. Perhaps if I grew up in the country where cars were household item, I'd be an adequate driver, but I got my first car at 33. Twice as old as folks here. So, I am not a good driver, but I try not to speed and I hate tailgating. I also do not experience road rage.
