Are these end prongs too delicate?

I'm wondering if I should get more substantial end prongs for this diamond. Do y'all think they're too delicate to protect the marquise points sufficiently? I like how the setting allows the diamond to be the star of the show but not sure the "v" prongs are as sturdy as they should be. Between the following three pics, I hope you can see them well enough to be able to weigh in.

(If anyone is wondering, it's 2.75 carats, SI1, K color, size 6).

Would it be possible to see the side view of the setting please, to see what the V prongs look like underneath?

If they are chunky enough then the should be fine, otherwise I would worry about them being caught and bent out of shape.

For my spouse, yes -- and I'm not trying to be mean to her. I don't know the real answer. Agree with looking at the part of the iceberg that's underwater...

That looks like a stone you kinda don't want to lose, right?

Lovely ring!

Here's a side view. I think that part of the prongs is okay, though. It's more the little "v" end prongs at the top of the ring that seem like they might be too small to protect the points:

Here it is with my smaller marquise diamond ring. The "v" prongs on the ends of the smaller diamond are much larger. Please excuse the poor photography:

They look fine and strong enough to me, however, I am not an expert though.

Looks similar to the prong on the point of my pear. I don’t love the look of v prongs although I’m sure they’re more protective.

Actually, the v-prongs appear to be fitted to the tips much better on the larger stone than the ones on the smaller stone. It looks good to me, but I do think a jeweler would have to answer your question.

Yes! I was thinking the same thing. Actually, it wasn’t until I came back in here that I noticed the V prongs on the larger stone. At first it was only noticeable to me in the smaller stone.
