are there any good crown/pavilion combos that will give this diamond a good score with diamondcalc?

Hi

Can someone run a diamondcalc on this stone?
GIA,RB,0.84,5.99x6.05x3.68,TD61.1%,Table62,girdle medium to thick,culet none

I tried some combos with the HCA and there''s one that gives good results
(crown 33o, pavilion 43%.... however I think that this combo just can''t
exist in the stone I''m talking about)

I've been trying many things with your Cut Adviser tool.. It's pretty
fun. I do not have yet crown and pavilion info on the stone I'M
talking about. I don't know if it's worth it.

With a 0.2 culet, table 62, total depth of 61.1
I got an HCA of 2 (good for me) with a 34o crown and 40.5o pav.
Got an HCA of 2.1 with the sames measurements but converted in % using
the math formula (crown = 12.8%, pav = 42.7%)
When i try to calculate the girdle thickness using those values I
obtain 61.1-12.8-42.7=5.6% I think that this corresponds to a medium
to thick girdle right (like it is written in the GIA cert)?

Another point is that I know for sure that the crown angles are between
30 and 35o since there's no mention in the GIA diamond dossier of
crown angles more than 35o or less than 30o. Since the table is a little
bit large, I think that the angle will be around 34. (I've looked at
the stone too). Is it a good assumption?

Now my last question is does a GIA medium to thick girdle is
around 5% or more?

Trichrome you will burn your finhers right off!

Girdle thickness is measured at the thin part and depth from the thick - this is why Fred Cuellar gets away with calling everyone elses diamonds "warped". The #'s can never add up.
Also GIA girdle thickness is size dependant, not % based.

Too much info will mess your mind

Never assume a 34 crown.

Trichrome here is a little experiment you could do.

IT IS FREE - YEAH!!!

Then use the marquise proportions (which are almost exactly the same as for round stones) to accomplish what you are attempting to do. You just use the width and depth - all the angles and % relate to this.

You can then play with all the possible crown and pavilion angles for your girdle, depth and table data.

Let me know please how you go - if it is easy for you we may recomend it to others - it is how we experts tell people if the stone has potential to be good.

I tried it.
Was fun to play with it. I found some combos that were
scoring OK on the HCA. However after looking at the stone in person,
I felt that it was
pretty... Diamonds are diamonds..you choose one because you
love one.. it's like women.. same thing..... a "bad" HCA score will
not prevent me from buying a stone I like when I see it.. Numbers are
numbers but I think that a diamond should be first goodlooking ... that' it..
Who will know besides you that the stone is a GIA class 1, 2 or 3??

Assuming your angles is the equivalent of playing russian roulette with your hard earned money. If you are a gambling man your odds will be much better at black jack than with a diamond dealer. GET THE FACTS AND DO NOT TAKE CHANCES.

Rhino it is possible to find stones that are in sweet spots - almost certain to score between 0-2 on HCA with the method Trichrome is playing with
