Are The Republicans Just Bad People?

Joe Scarborough, a conservative and a former Republican, has been asking for months what has happened to the Republican Party. He, and many other principled Republicans, have been asking what happened to Paul Ryan, whom they once had believed to be a man of integrity. The question these conservatives asked was how could these Republicans repeatedly put party above country and support Donald Trump in unconscionable statements he made and moves he took. Mr. Scarborough, like many others, has prophesied that the Republican Party might be heading towards its end. Paul Krugman, in this piece, speculates that the current Republican party attracts unattractive people to it. What do you think of his argument?

Say what you want about Republicans, but they are a fiscally conservative bunch that care deeply about things like the national debt and budget deficit. There are "bad" people of all stripes. The Republican party is going nowhere but they sure don't represent me with this latest budget fiasco. This kind of rhetoric between the parties is so effing tiring and useless in the end - except to the Russians - they love that we are turned inside out and at each others throats. There are plenty of really BAD people on this planet and in this country without resorting to this kind of BS. Politics has become a blood sport and it is completely disgusting.

I don’t think all republicans are bad people. I do think we have quite a few republican politicians with absolutely no integrity. When you can stand with someone as disgusting as Trump, I question your character.. I never in my life thought we would have a president who attacks our FBI and supports a foreign government who has meddled in our election.

This past week has given me hope. Watching these young kids banning together to bring about change with guns has been amazing to see. Hopefully they will be able to bring about change. These assault rifles and magazines with many bullets need to be outlawed. Guns are not toys, people need to find a new hobby.

Children were being buried Monday while Trump golfed. This president didn’t even try to meet with their parents. The photos released with him meeting with the hospital staff mad me sick. 17 people are dead and he stands there grinning ear to ear, giving the thumps up.

And if the Dems. refuses to face the truth of why they lost in 2016 then they'll lose again in 2020. Instead of making excuses of why they lost in 2016 they should start looking for a good candidate who can beat Trump in 2020.

All Republicans are not ALL bad people. The leadership right now reflects the ABSOLUTE worst of the group. Just like there are A LOT of bad democrats, there are a lot of bad republicans.

For some reason I will never understand the republican party has taken a man who has absolutely no moral code and is defending him tooth and nail and is destroying any sense of human decency the party claimed to have.

Because the Republican Party has refused to demand his resignation and continues to endorse his lies and his lack of morals on any matter I recently left the Republican Party and I’m donating to Democrats and will continue to donate to them.
I do not believe a very large percentage of the Democratic party beliefs but I absolutely cannot have Trump at the head of the Republican Party and look myself in the mirror.

I will take an honorable Democrat over the filth that is at our Republican leadership now any day of the week . If Regan had seen a 37 page indictment of 13 foreign spies who came on our soil to learn how to influence our elections for a hostile nations favor.. and if Regan seen this and not condemned russia and enforced sanctions the republican party would have LOST their collective minds. Trumps response was a lie and focused on his narcissism and ego. He tried to make it again about his interests and not the nations with a twitter tantrum that did not display a “stable genius”

Trump ryan mc connel and every other senator and congressman who supports trumps immorality and doesnt say no to his lies and blatant violation of the Constitution - they all deserve to lose their jobs.

Until the time the Republican Party says we will not allow a man who is a serial adulterer and a pathological liar and a complete fraud at the head of the party stay in office and until the time a new leadership gets a backbone and says we will no longer tolerate this in our current or ANY future candidate I will be donating to every local and state democratic candidate in 2018 and 2020 and beyond

Are many republicans bad people? I used to think no. Maybe I was wrong. Maybe they not only defend him but actually agree with trump? They have not asked him to step down , maybe they truly like trump “ becuase he says and does what they are thinking “

If a person thinks as trump does- that marching tiki torch racists are very fine people and that gun rights should always take priority over gun owning responsibility and mexicans are drug dealers and rapists and only some are good people and that climate change is a hoax and that it is ok to violate the emolients clause of the constitution and trump doesnt have to enforce the congresses sanctions when an enemy nation trys to influence our elections and the list could go on for PAGES ... if a person believes all these things and is ok with a president whose word cannot be trusted and is without a moral compass... If they support this and believe these things they literally are the definition of the swamp that should be drained.

The leadership takes an oath to defend and protect the constitution and the country. They have utterly failed to do this and revel in displaying the contempt they hold for morality and humanity.

And frankly not all republicans are bad people but I have a hard time understanding how one could define this group who support trump as good people who defend and protect the constitution and to protect ALL the people who live in our nation. (Not just the wealthy white business owners)
