Not too reassuring, is it?

On a business trip once, I stopped to see my mother, who gave me a bundle of 12 silver-&-mother-of-pearl knives & 12 sterling forks she didn't want to put in the mail or UPS, etc. At the hotel I didn't trust the room safe, so asked the mgr. to keep them in the main safe. He was not happy about it but I bullied him into it. Felt more confident, though nothing is sure, & you can''t do that w/a phone or laptop. Best if possible to take them with you -- which I've done with jewelry on long trips, smushing it into my purse or attache case every day, groan. Not that it was worth a zillion, but I didn't want to have it stolen.
