... and since they are (since so many have applied for and recieved small business financial assistance) shouldn't their tax exempt status be taken away?

How very two-faced! :knockout:
Two-faced of religions, and two-faced of government/politicians for paying them off ... obviously for votes. :nono:

Religion is BIG business.

I won't comment in detail (and I have no wish to offend anyone) but to say I am not a fan of extremes in general and not a fan of religious institutions for many reasons.

One of the most important reasons is it IMO serves to separate (those who don't "belong") vs. bring people together.

Aren't many (most?) wars/terroristic acts in the name of religion and money?

When religion and religious institutions provide comfort to others it is used for good and for that purpose it is a positive thing.

But we don't live in an ideal world and there are many negatives.

However I do want to say I see the purpose of religion for some but I also see the negatives that often outweigh the good.

But yes there is a positive aspect for some that I will not deny.

That is absolutely shameful. They want to avoid taxes but get bailouts? Tsk tsk.

I also saw a video from a pastor in the south, asking people to send him their $1200 cheques. Probably needs another jet or something!
