I don't think I've ever tried one, and now my Dr. says I can't.

ETA: Uh Oh! ... Language NSFW. :naughty:

You aren’t missing anything...imo.

They are decent but not awesome.

It's really sweet. Really really really sweet. And this is coming from me who loves dessert.

I don't think you're missing out on anything. There are waaaaaay better donuts out there.

Yes it’s really good. I like the glazed donuts but without the glaze. Ugh now I miss them ugh....

Oh no!
Your post made my rational brain explode. :knockout:

Lol. Too sweet for me with the glaze. But sometimes I’ll enjoy one or six with the glaze and black coffee. Hmmm...

They haven't got anything on a good local shop.
Those Irish kids would have ecstasy seizures if they took a Maine donut tour.
And they would leave fat, that too.

They are too sweet for me, I prefer regular raised donuts from mom and pop shops that are puffier with less glaze. My husband and kids love Kristy Kreme though, and each can eat half a dozen in one sitting!

It's awesome with a piece of fried chicken w/ an extra crispy piece of fried chicken skin sandwiched between two donuts. Preferably one glazed, one not glazed.

Very sweet and decadent. So timely to see this as I haven't had them in over 20 years and my sister left a dozen on my doorstep this Easter as a surprise. They were gone very quickly as no one in my house had ever had them... The plain glazed is my fav.

Eh. Better than some and not as good as others. If I could safely go buy a doughnut from anywhere, I would go to the hospital my grandmother had her surgery in. That was better than most of the doughnuts around here. (I say most as I very rarely have a doughnut so haven't tried them all. I have heard there is a shop 15 minutes from me that is THE place to buy though I have never been able to remember the name when the (rare) urge strikes.)

The biggest thing is with that type of donut they are really only at their best for about 5-10min once they get past the glazer.
There is no comparison.

There's something about the soft texture and sweet taste that's unlike any other doughnut. I don't eat Krispy Kreme at all because for me they would be mega addictive but if I was to choose a doughnut to indulge in it would definitely be a KK.

It is a lot of money for a donut that is nothing special to me.

Prefer the ones freshly cooked and coated in cinnamon sugar myself, especially the mini ones.

DK :))

They are way too sweet for me but my husband loves them.......and he is Irish!
If he has too many I rat on him to our family dentist and he gets a good telling off! :lol-2:

I would love to try one. Believe it or not I have never had a Krispy Kreme. My DH once did a taste test between Dunkin Donuts and Kirspy Kreme and another famous donut brand all freshly baked (are donuts baked?) and I forget which one he chose. Sorry lol. I will find out and report back.

Greg said he prefers Dunkin Donuts. Consistency is more like cake according to him.

As for that third donut brand he said he only remembers two.

Strangely, I dislike all donuts.

Well, I will occasionally eat the Entenmanns chocolate covered variety if someone brings them ‘round.

My life would be so much easier if I had never tried two things-donuts and bagels. I would prefer to not even hear the word donut, because I start thinking about them. I haven't had one in a few years. My husband recently told me he bought some for the guy repairing our RV and of course had one (or two, not sure I didn't ask). I really didn't hardly speak to him for a week. They are my kryptonite.
I think there are way better donuts than Krispy Kreme. As much as I love donuts those don't call my name a bit. Their claim to fame is that they are served warm. Big deal.

There is an apple orchard/farm near us that makes their own apple cinnamon donuts in the fall. You buy them and they make them on the spot, so you get a fresh, warm donut. It's like eating perfectly sweetened & cinnamoned air. No donut holds a candle to them.

Oh my goodness that sounds so yummy. I might just give up gluten free for the time it would take to eat that heavenly donut. :lickout:

If possible, next time you get one, could you share a photo?
I can smell them from here and almost taste them too.

My parents have a house in a mountain town in Georgia near an apple orchard. They had the best apple cider donuts ever! Yum! We were strategizing how to get some home but decided they wouldn’t travel well :( Fingers crossed we get to visit this summer!

@Polished said it perfectly. I’m really lucky we don’t have these around my neighborhood anymore because those witches are crazy addictive!

Will do! They are so incredible I levitate just thinking about them.

I cant watch the video to see their reactions, but I can imagine! As a canadian we dont have as many (i think theres like 3 in the whole country), so i've only had it a few times. I LOVED THEM. When you walk in they just give you one?! Like hot off the press after it goes through a waterfall of glaze!? It's so hot and soft and yes, very sweet, so I wouldn't normally eat more lol. I've never had the ones they sell at 7-11, no idea how old those are.

I love them! Back before there was a shop on every other corner I worked in the Sears Tower and the restaurant on the 2nd floor got them in fresh every morning. One of my coworkers and I would go down each day and get two apiece with our coffee. We'd each eat one in the elevator on the way back up! Another coworker of ours use to marvel that we could "only eat one" of them because that's all she ever saw -- the second one, LOL. If she'd have seen us snarfing that first one between floors 2 and 51 every day I think her opinion of our will power would have changed! :lickout:

Best thing evah!
We have three in my town! They make blueberry cake, raspberry glazed, maple varieties and apple cinnamon- then you turn to your left and the wall of pies start.
We also have sugar houses, on what seems to be every quarter mile, so then you have to go get maple flavored everything.
Thank dog for all the walking to be had around here or we would all just roll.

This. There is something about the texture if they are fresh- almost melt in your mouth. I found that putting them in the microwave for about 10 seconds gets them very close to that experience :)
