Are home ultrasonic cleaners really that risky for pave diamond settings?

I bought a cheap $25 consumer grade ultrasonic cleaner on Amazon.

Is it really that risky to put pave diamonds in it?

I’ve got a few (cheap used) David Yurman pave diamond pieces I would like to clean with it regularly. I put them in there this time throwing caution to the wind and the stones are all fine. With each used DY piece I have being rather chunky silver and also around $200 or less each, I would also rather just have them as sparkly as possible even if it’s not ideal for pave stones. But I also don’t want to ruin them quick either. They looked so much more sparkly after this cleaning that I’m debating the risk long-term.

I’ll attach a photo of them. They look like fairly sturdy settings to me, not super thin fragile ones. The stones are so small it’d be hard to notice if a stone did go missing. IMG_2924.jpeg

I have had the ultrasonic loosen melee.

My take on it is - I'm too lazy to do the deep cleaning manually. But I love the way my diamonds sparkle when they are clean. So for me - it's worth the risk, using the ultrasonic cleaner, as long as I have a local jeweler take a look every few months just in case.

Have your pieces inspected every year, or every 6 months if they are daily drivers. An ultrasonic should only be able to loosen stones if there is an issue.
Meaning, you would likely loose it eventually…. I would rather have it happen in an ultrasonic when I can find it!

I use an ultrasonic - I always look in the bottom before I rise anything and inspect afterwards.
