I need some clarification from people who thinks they are not sanitary: is it disgusting because some of them have holes on the shoes? Or is it because of other factors, like material?

I wore Croc flip flops when I was pregnant, and I remember them being very comfortable. I had to buy them two sizes larger than my regular size, though.

I have these: http://www.crocs.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-crocs_us-Site/default/Product-Show?pid=10122

They are SUPER cute when on - people are always shocked to find out they''re crocks. I love ''em in the summer. Can wear them all day and night and be fine.

I don''t really get people thinking the holes are gross?!? Much better than wearing flats without socks.

It''s the holes and the thought of someone with gross feet wearing them without socks. So their foot gunk is all over the insides. Then they get wet and yucky and they could easily walk out of them and leave their foot fungus, etc all over the floor. Not to mention the bacteria that is probably forced out of the holes with air as the person takes a step. And the smell of some of them!

This is also my concern with kitchens, but the bigger issue is I think they''re a safety hazard (hot liquid, sharp knives, heavy objects, etc). When I worked in the restaurant industry (5 years waiting tables and bartending)we were told it was an OSHA regulation to have close toed and backed shoes. I''ve since looked into it and it''s not a formal regulation, but I agree with the rule in general. It''s foolish to put yourself in a hazardous situation when there are other options available on the market (I''m talking more about open vs closed backed danskos).

But crocs? BLEGH!!

I have several pairs of the sandals that I live in in the summer. They are ridiculously comfortable, and when at the beach and whatnot you can hose them down.

There are closed back and toed styles for those in the service industry as well...

A lot of people that I work with (I work in a hospital) wear the crocs with the holes in them. I can''t tell you how many times I get bodily fluids on my shoes (I wear Dansko''s or full leather shoes at all times). I guess the crocs without the holes would be more acceptable.

I''ll admit, I wear crocs when I am at home baking or cleaning. I have hardwood floors and have to wear something! I also have a pair of croc flip flops that I do wear out in the summer when walking the dog or running to the store. I live in one of those pajama pant/crocs in public towns

I am surprised to hear that there are others!

I am curious, I haven''t heard of Dansko''s but just looked them up. Those who stand all day, what style do you wear?

I wear the plain old regular Dansko''s... I think they are called the ''professional clog''? Mine have a back to them also, as I have a very high arch/instep and my foot won''t fit into a mule style shoe. I think that most Dansko shoes are pretty much very similar to each other.

Thank you Girlface! I was a little overwhelmed as there are so many, but they do all look similar. Do the backs rub against your ankle at all?

This.

They don''t come in half sizes so I always order up to be safe and get a little extra room in the heel. My foot is pretty free floating in the shoe but it doesn''t rub anywhere to cause blisters. They''re pretty pricy, around $115-$120 for the closed back style, but I have a pair that I''ve had since HS, so going on 12 years or so now. They''re beaten up but still usable.

I don''t wear backless shoes, and I try to avoid ugly shoes, as well.

So no, I don''t wear Crocs. My mother lives in them, though, and she loves them. She has several pairs that look like Mary Janes, they aren''t quite as ugly as those big holey styles.

ALEGRIA Shoes....

Ahhhhhhhhhh... Comfy feet!!!

I think the traditional style is ugly, but these Crocs are cute and comfortable.

I only bought a pair of knock off Crocs for the purpose of gardening. I like that I can spray them down and leave them outside. Otherwise, I would probaly not wear them in public.

This is exactly why I think Crocs are more sanitary than all other type of shoes. I don''t like to wear socks all the time and the thought of cleaning them with soap and water when I want to is VERY comforting to me.

My 6-yearl old took a liking to him. But I have noticed that it really interferes with his gait. So I do not think that they are right "anatomically".

shimmer - i wear danskos to work at night in a restaurant - i wear the professional and i love them. it''s not stick, and supports your back quite a bit -- they are however, a VERY heavy shoe and by the end of the night, usually my back feels great, but my feet ache a bit. I have to say, this would be true of ANY shoe after 8 hours of running around all night :)

I LOVE MY CROCS!

I got turned onto them about a year ago after a friend had a few pair and raved about them. She was wearing a little ballet flat (the Malindi) with a sling back and I had no idea that they were crocs - they were so cute!

Both DH and i have a few pair and we wear them all the time - in fact, the mens look a lot like SNOOKS and DH gets tons compliments on them. Neither of us have the traditional crocs with the holes and wide footbed, but there are so many other styles to choose from.

To the OP: I think my crocs are incredibly comfortable and i can wear them all day - but having said that, i know you said you ordered the Alice - i have them too. they are really cute with the little strap, but i don''t find them to be my most comfortable pair. If you get another pair, try the malindi - i like the fit of them better : http://www.crocs.com/crocs-malindi/10127,default,pd.html?cid=685&cgid=women-footwear-flats

My girlfriend swears by the Lily : http://www.crocs.com/crocs-lily/10510,default,pd.html?cid=060&cgid=women-footwear-flats but i don''t have them (yet).

I don''t own a pair so I don''t know if they are comfy.

Personally I find them unattractive along with Birkenstock sandals, & clog/mule styles in general. Who was it that posted in another thread about a lawyer showing up to court wearing crocs? Cracks me up every time I think about it.

There is nothing I love more than the ENTIRE family in Crocs. Ohh, the horror.

I bought these black no name "crocs" for gardening years before actual Crocs became popular. To my knowledge, they have never been out the front door of the house.

They are a bit too big for me and sometimes my husband wears them out the back too. I honestly don''t care what other people choose to wear or why they choose to wear *anything*. Crocs are comfortable, but they''d never stay on my feet. My gardening clogs have no backs. They are great to wash off and let dry outside though. My kids have never worn crocs and never will. Doesn''t bug me one way or the other.

I''m very neutral on Crocs - I can''t understand why people love them or hate them.. except perhaps worn with socks and shorts.. :)

I just got my Alice and Lily Plaid and I LOVE THEM!! The Alice takes a bit more getting used to (more cushion in the back) but after half an hour, I don''t feel them at all!

Loveeeeeeee them!

On to buying a winter pair that''s on sale (Gretel).

My red Alice. These Crocs are so cute and so comfortable!

These are the Lily Plaid. They will go very nicely with my chocolate outfit.

Oooh, i have the alice in red too! I love the Lily in plaid, and just yesterday i tried on the Gretel - it''s awfully comfortable and so soft. In fact, lots of the liners of the winter ones are washable - you just pull out the lining and throw it in the wash (not sure about that particular pair).

DH and are kind of addicted to the croc outlet near us - i am not ashamed

I think once you get the idea of how great they make your feet feel, you would just rather be comfy. The heeled version of the lily is comfy and is called the lydia - oh, and the olivia is super comfy and cute too!

p.s. i don''t have all these i mentioned, just tried them on

I have never worn a pair of crocs. I think every surgeon/scrub nurse in the hospital wears crocs or some variation of the theme. They say it is comfortable and the blood doesn''t stick to them. I wear chuch taylor converse shoes to work. They are pretty comfortable for work, and the blood washed off the rubber part of the shoe. They''re my alternative to crocs. And they are super cheap.

Long time no see, Qtiekiki! I have not kept up with the Family threads, but it looks like you have two beautiful babies already! Belated congratulations on your second baby!
