Appraisers in South Florida?

Does anyone know of a reputable independent appraiser in South Florida (Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Boca Raton area)? I'd like to have a diamond appraised but so far have called two "independent" appraisers only to find out they are actually jewelry stores. Both have tried to find out about my diamond in order to offer me a better deal. I searched under resources...of the 3 listed one has passed away, one is disconnected, and one rings to a cell phone but no one answers.

Any help would be appreciated!

Go to www.NAJAappraisers.com "Find an Appraiser" search. I just attended the conference this week in Chicago. The National Association of Jewelry Appraisers (NAJA) has qualified appraisers in your area. Check the listings(which are updated) then visit their websites to make an informed decision. Hope this is helpful.
