What can/cannot be determined from a skilled appraiser for a diamond already in a setting


I'll tell you--finding an appraisal is more nerve-wracking, it seems, than selecting the diamond.

Because prongs can cover inclusions and diamonds are graded face down and when set, the appraiser cannot properly look at the diamond from that angle.
