Recently my future wife and I had a loose diamond appraised. We don''t have any images of the diamond. We bought it from a very reputable dealer, and the appraisal matched or exceeded what the AGS cert gave as information.

Do we need to duplicate everything for insurance.

do we need H&A images, B-Scope images, etc to give to the insurance company.

These would be duplicates as we have the originals from the dealer we bought the stone from.

Thanks and sorry this is my first post, I have been lurking for a while - and now must post for info.

HE MEANS - We'd like to know if we can use the appraisal report that GOG gave us for insurance purposes?
It includes H&As images, Magnified Inclusion Pics, Idealscope image, B-Scope, and Sarin.
Or is that un-kosher because it's considered biased?

We did not receive any kind of report from our independent appraiser. (weird, I know.)

Please advise - we've been arguing about this for almost a month.

Scintillating...

Yes, I would supply the insurance company with all the information you have which documents the diamond.

Yes, you can use the GOG appraisal report for insurance purposes. His appraisal reports are more thorough than what you would get from most independent appraisers. There's plenty of documentation and a reasonable retail value supplied.
