From the CEO
"The factory in Ukraine stopped growing diamonds when the Russians started bombing, but a week ago the factory restarted, as we need to help our economy to survive. We need to give people work, and hope that one day everything will return to normal life. Not all presses were able to work again but most of them now alive again. "

I hope this mess ends soon and things return to some semblance of normal for all those affected...people, businesses, etc!

Can consumers in the USA order directly from them now that they are up and running again?

Doubtful, since they are the growers so their rough likely makes its way to Surat in India to become finished goods.

Contact them and ask. report back. They may tell you who their clients and resellers are?

Actually, Meylor doesn't just have presses. They have polishers and jewelers as well. FWIW, I've noticed that certain of the more sophisticated LG producers tend to polish much of their output, rather than outsourcing it.

Their factory floor.

Early this year Meylor grew record setting 150 and 141 carat rough crystals, breaking their previous record of 115 carats.

Their polishers at work.

They initially closed but are operational again, working to support local economy, pay salaries, etc.

Yes. They sell B2C here.

They've developed a line of blue and yellow lab grown diamond rings, with proceeds going to Ukraine relief organizations.

This web page was only launched locally. Yuliya, their CEO, tells me translated versions will be coming at the end of the week.

They have a USA phone number, for those interested.

John Pollard continues to amaze me with not only the breadth of his knowledge, but his obvious joy in sharing it with people to the benefit of all concerned.

What a treasure he is.

Is there a way we can pin this thread elsewhere on PS? Or maybe create another thread in RT to point people here? Just thinking about how to get more visibility on this post, as I'm betting a lot of PS members would be interested, even if they don't usually visit the lab grown section...

I'm not a big fan of colored lab diamonds - I prefer natural - but I'd support Ukraine with those rings if the price was good. Unfortunately, Webroot says be careful on their website so I haven't been able to price them.

I found a blue diamond I liked and inquired. Still contemplating if I want to purchase.

The price I see is coming up in USD and it is far less. $1000.00 or $1,500.00, depending on what size diamonds you choose. Screenshot 2022-04-26 at 15.20.34.png

wont the tax /duty and shipping add up on this high value item?

I can only see delivery options within the Ukraine, and no option to select ring size. Can you see more? I am tempted to write them an email to say that some people outside of the Ukraine are interested, but the ordering process needs to be clearer. I am sure they are under a lot of pressure so I don't want to bother them, but I also would like them to be successful.
