Anyone watching American Idol tonight?

I was but wasn''t surprised Adam was in the bottom night.

Dispite all the hype...he''s very broadway, like a character. I don''t see him being mainstream, doing tours, and I couldn''t tell you what his style of music would be if he released an album. He''s like a musical chameleon....very talented, but always changing his tune.

Mark and I have theory...that the more the "normal" people start getting picked off, the more their "fans" will start voting for other "normal" performers, leaving Adams margin of votes smaller and smaller...because he''s really not for everyone.

But, I do think, at the core...it''s anyones game to win.

Interesting results! I''m glad Allison is doing a little better. I really think her more reserved personality is what holds her back the most because that kid is an awesome singer! As over the top as Adam is, the theatrical stuff is kind of trendy right now (I''m thinking Fallout Boy and Panic at the Disco), so he could have a much larger market than some give him credit for. Kris keeps growing on me more and more though! At this point, I''m totally divided. Hate to see Matt go, though. Really talented guy, but he was trying to be too many things and doing a mediocre job of it instead of sticking to his roots and kicking butt, so he was just too far behind the others to save himself, I think.

I was surprised Adam was in the bottom 3 but as the group gets smaller any of them could have been there. I think Danny has such a huge following and is pretty mainstream that unless he totally messes up, will end up winning. hubby is still betting on Adam. I''m glad Matt got the boot, it was his time. I would have been sad to see any of the other four go. Next week, who knows....

The folks on the Idol boards are all "CONSPIRACY THEORY" and "TINKERING!!" They can't believe Adam (their savior) would be in the bottom TWO. But I TOTALLY can see it ... for several reasons

* apathy ... Adam's fans assume he's the chosen one & will be in the final, thus not voting
* vote-splitting ... even people who like Adam felt others they liked were more at risk
* turnover ... do we really think Lil's fans or Anoop's fans would go to ADAM? Unlikely.
* performance level ... people want to see growth. Adam is steady. That performance was actually one of his WORST -- especially compared to the other performances this week.
* he's too niche (flamboyant, broadway, screamy, sleazy) i'm sorry but in a country that voted down gay marriage in CA of all places - I just don't see mainstream America embracing him. The people who DO love him, seem to think he can do no wrong ... but I think as things dwindle & dwindle ... more mainstream voters will be freed up & roll over to mainstream candidates. He's gotten all the "alternative" voters he's gonna get at this point.

He even had the "pimp" spot -- going last -- and STILL couldn't get the votes. Its totally the Chris Daughtrey phenomenon. He's just lucky Matt was *less* liked.

Well, I didn''t care to post the numbers anymore since My Man "Anoop" is gone.

So for the sake of those who think Adam will win suddenly becomes delirious. Adam was generating 7M votes on average. But when Scott and Anoop went home. Donkey''s votes spiked.

So here is the latest tally:

1. Donkey 12,534,295
2. Allison 10,102,978
3. Kris 8,205,314
4. Adam 7,025,964

If you see the previous numbers, Adam has a stable fanbase but not enough to win the competition. All they could muster is 7M.

Kris'' and Allison votes were surprising since they jumped from an average of 3M.

The crucial votes will be coming from Matt''s fans which is around 5M votes. It would still go to Donkey I presume.

I agree that Donkey will win it all. I am rooting to anyone winning it as long as it is not him.

Does it bother anybody else that the producers clearly try to control the vote??? Okay so for rock week, they knew Allison and Adam would do the best since it''s their genre. They let Adam and Allison open the show with their single performances and close the show with their duet after which they were called a rock god and goddess.

Now, Danny and Kris were clearly not going to be in their element on rock night. So they put them together for the duet and sandwiched all of their performances in the middle of the show....coincidence??? I don''t think so. Or am I just really cynical?

I really hope it''s Danny/Adam or Kris/Adam in the final. A Kris/Danny just seems like it would be

It's a shame, too- she was (IMO) the most talented vocalist in the competition.

How was Danny able to stay after that horrifying screech? My husband thought it was so funny, he replayed it three times.

I think people are voting based on the whole competition and not just from one show. I was sort of surprised that Kris didn''t go instead of Allision since I think she has the stronger voice. I do like him, though...seems like a nice guy as does Danny. I''ve always thought Adam would win, but it''ll be interesting to see who is in the finals with him. I thought it would be Danny, but Kris apparently has some strong fan support as well.

I voted my fingers off last night (for the first time since Taylor Hicks btw). I am so tired of McSCREAMY! And so delighted by the offbeat choices & infectious charm of Mr. Allen. The one who refused to be coy about his pretty young wife to gain ladyfans. The one who has helped other contestants rearrange songs even though it could hurt him.

I have liked Kris Allen since the beginning and I really hope he''s in the finals! He''s so sweet and talented and I love his voice - I could totally picture listening to his songs on the radio. I think Adam is talented in a dramatic/Broadway type of way, but every time I hear him sing all I hear is screeching. I don''t know - I guess I just don''t fully understand why people are so crazy about him. I want to shut the TV when he screams...

I''m not really a fan of Danny (even though he does have a great voice) and I hope he''s the one voted off tonight.

Last night was the first night I realized Kris Allen could win this thing. I''ve been rooting for Allison & Danny but Kris knocked me out last night. And he''s such a commercial mix of good looks/talent/creativity/likability that I''m starting to think he may take it all!

Danny has a compelling story (dead wife) and great pipes but he looks smug sometimes & folks might get tired of sympathy.

Allison is an amazing singer but her personality isn''t clicking w/America

Adam makes me wanna claw my ears off & wash out my eyes with soap so obviously I don''t think America is gonna get ENOUGH peeps in his corner to win

The rest are meh, not serious contenders IMHO -- except for Kris. He''s really rising to the challenge week after week. A conventionally *cute* boy winning? Has that ever happened? Do NOT tell me you think David ''Alien Head'' Cook is ''conventionally cute'' -- puhleeze. Not even my George Clooney Gray Fox is ''conventionally cute'' -- Kris Allen would be Justin Timberlake boy-band cute. The male equivalent of Carrie Underwood winning. An aesthetic homerun.

Hey, all you Kris fans--I''d just like to point out that last year this time, a number of people were annoyed with Archuleta and the weird lizard tongue thing, and he lost, so maybe you guys''ll jinx Adam by association.

I scared the pets last night I screamed so loudly when Kris was announced as the first member of the final 2. YAY!!!!!

And remember, Ryan said the top two were separated by ONE MILLION VOTES -- out of EIGHTY EIGHT MILLION. If its that close in a three way race ... wow. Only I think the vast majority of Danny voters will swing Kris''s way.

Which would mean KRIS WINS!!!! That would be so weird for Entertainment Weekly ... who gave Adam the first solo contestant cover ever. It seems MTV is heavily in Kris''s corner though ... from their web coverage at least.

Whooopie! And I''m in for Brownies next week -- though I might be too riveted to the screen to Live Blog.
