I just posted over in BWW about how my elliptical machine broke right as I was getting into the workout groove to get down to my desired wedding weight. I''ve been combing craig''s list since I can''t afford a new machine. They have a nordic track leg shaper listed for very little money. So has anyone ever used one of these? Is it worth any money? I can''t imagine it''s as much of a cardio workout...

Sabine, I can''t help you with your requested question...

but I did want to tell you I just saw a segment on those goofy shaped shoes...the ones Mara and others were talking about back 4 or more months ago. They have a rounded type sole on them. In order to keep your balance you have to use and utilize all these muscles on your legs that you don''t normally while walking. So those particular muscles and others get in shape...

Anyway this lady was interviewed and had lost 2 inches in her thighs in some crazy amount of time (4 weeks I think) and said her legs were in better shape than they were in her youth. Her bum also benefited and she had dropped 2 dress sizes.

I didn''t understand it until I saw her interview...but it is so logical. It only takes walking...which you are doing anyway. They are crazy prized I think they start at $250...maybe someone might chime in and tell you more...if you want more anyway. Sorry to theadjack...or to yak about something you may not have any interest in...

DKS- That sounds really cool! I must have missed the original thread, but they are definitely something I would like to take a look into. Unfortunately, they are out of our pricerange right now as we got the original elliptical for under $200. Of course, I could always go ahead and cut those handful of guilt-invites and use the extra money to look extra great....just a thought
