and isn''t it gorgeous?
the shank looks like his mushroom pave am i correct? or is just v cut but so tiny that you barely can tell that it is v cut?

i could''ve sworn it''s mushroom?

i couldn''t find the exact image on Leon''s website so i''m hoping someone on PS can gimme the answer.

then i can tell Leon "i want that but without the halo, and with my ''tiny'' 1.3 RB"

thanks much sillysweetie!

Related question to the mushroom pave found on the PS link above and the Leon Mege link above. I went into a B&M today, found a setting that looked almost exactly like Leon''s mushroom pave, and would love to know if the term mushroom pave is interchangeable with any other terminology? The lady said theirs was "shared prong" and just curious if it is the same, and if not how is it different? I will look on PS search fields for sample images, but would love to hear why she said it was shared prong if it looked so much like mushroom.

Cheers!

Hi Pannini,

shared prong is a more general term, and a design technique that can be applied in many styles; 'mushroom pave', 'fishtail pave' etc., are all attempts to describe the individual prong style. A designer can interpret this general form, and decide the exact shape of the prongs for the stones. A great deal of artistry can be imparted in these finer details of a setting.

Does anyone have a close up photo of the side and top view of Mushroom Pave?

hi CharmyPoo, if you go to the link in the original post of this thread, you''ll see AceBruin''s mushroom pave images.

I really love it.

here''s another couple of pictures of Leon''s mushroom pave:

I have seen a lot but I wanted some super duper close up to almost 1 or 2 melee :P

I ask for the world!

best to get a real life example from your designer of choice. I have found that even close-up pics look nothing like the rings do in real life.

you can try searching mushroom pave on here though and see if any of the ring owners posted your definition of super duper close-ups.

I think the image above with the green emerald is vcut pave, which is not mushroom, just FYI!

=)

pannini, you are correct, the band appears to be vcut but the halo appears to be mushroom

I think I am really learning here and I just took a pop quiz in pave settings.
