met with Quest on Sat.... we''re working from this very rough drawing (ok... my rendention of their drawing) for an Asscher setting.

has anyone seen a ring like this? would love to see a picture of something similar.

fyi... the shank is pinched up towards the diamond - so the bottom is the same width as the rest of the band but the top is narrower, without being a knife edge.

any feedback is appreciated!

It is a good design for an Asscher with a deep and bulging pavilion. There are variations for princess cuts with less of this Asscher-like bulge. It should not be a huige problem to make such a setting. Someone will certainly be able to do it for you.

That "V" shape you have drawn reminds me of the verragio settings

thanks for the feedback so far...

question for anyone willing to answer... which way should the bar point? up or down?

Reminds me of a Ritani setting?? I like the bar pointing up.

Efm,

As a COMPLETE novice : p my vote would be to make the bar point up - it looks prettier to me and might also support the diamond like a prong would? Again, I know NOTHING, but like your idea of coming up with your own, special setting... your girl is quite lucky,

good luck!

Pointing up looks like the Daniel K split crown from the side (if you like this setting Adwar makes a copy-- Quest would get it in and set it with diamonds for you-- might save you $$).
