Anyone out there who has never considered an upgrade?

You know, I actually think upgrades are not as common as they may seem here on PS... the few of us who do it are just loud and obnoxious and gather attention 8)

Just wondering if there are any PSers who have not considered an engagement/wedding ring update. I find myself totally in love with my e-ring that I can't imagine ever wanting to change it. Am I in the minority?

Well, I upgraded my diamond one week after having it (if that counts)...lol But, that was many years ago. I really don't have any desire to upgrade my diamond again, but do want a different setting as I don't feel attached it it and don't like it. Problem is I am attached to my wedding band and it'll be hard finding a setting that'll work with any of the other eng rings I like. Sooo....who knows!

Well, I wore my original set for 30 years, so never say never! The new set came about because I wasn't wearing yellow gold jewelry but my set was yg. I talked to my husband about resetting, but he said I should just get a new ring for that big upcoming anniversary! So I kept the originals to hand down to my kids and I only wear the new rings now. And no, I have zero desire to upgrade (as in size) this diamond ever. I wouldn't feel comfortable with anything larger as I have had to adjust to this one!

nah.

i love both of my engagement rings and they are so different that i get the variety i crave

i have NO objections to getting anniversary rings though, and i may well wear them interchangeably on my left ring finger.... :cheeky:

but i never want to sell any of my rings, so no upgrade per se.

Not obnoxious. Others have fun watching y'all upgrade. We on this site are all obsessed with diamonds and enjoy seeing them. But I believe that a lot of women are sentimental about their e-rings even on this site and wouldn't change THEIRS, even though they might like to watch you do it (and are probably game for upgrading earrings, pendants and other things, as well as ADDING rings, like RHR and anniversary). But to a lot of us, a different e-ring, though maybe technically nicer, wouldn't be the same as the one we got when he proposed.

IRL I am sure that the concept of upgrading has not caught on--many haven't even heard the word and when it's explained, they don't understand the point. Non-diamond obsessed people upgrade their cars and they buy new furniture and redecorate, but their e-rings and wedding rings stay with them for life (though they might add an 'enhancer' or get a band on a special anniversary, of course).

This!

I haven't, because I got exactly what I wanted. That said, it's only been two years.

Now, my wedding ring... we bought in a bit of a hurry and to match the e-ring. I had posted pics on PS (and shown to my mom etc.) and was swayed by the majority opinion that the w-band should match the e-ring style. Now I kinda wish I had gotten the (non-matching) band I really loved. But it's my wedding ring, so I probably won't ever change it, just add another stacking band at some point... :halo:
