Anyone make felted animals?

Our city has an adult education class to make some Easter felted animals and I'm kind of interested in learning how to do this. Plus I've been looking for something to do outside of the house. The class is three hours on a weeknight.

I tried to find articles online about how easy this is for someone who doesn't typically craft but haven't had much luck. So any PS folks have any experience with this, any tips for beginners or if this might be too advanced for a beginner, an alternative idea, I am all ears!

Ohhh, that sounds like fun! I have no experience (except for the time I missed pulling out my wool toque from the wash and ended up putting it in the dryer - it became felted). But please share what you find out; I'd love to know more about felting.
