Just wanted to double check on a Sholdt design and get a second price to compare with my local jeweler... anyone got a ballpark idea on the price of a platnum RC52:

http://www.sholdtdesign.com/rc52.htm

Thanks in advance!

I looked into a couple of Sholdt designs settings. They were too expensive for me for what they offered even though they seem literally like works of art.

I was looking at RC164A and I think it was about $4800 for platinum and still in the $3000''s for 18k WG. It has a little bit more stone in the band, though, so ballpark for the one that you are looking at might be $4000?????? I remember it being more than a really Jeff Cooper setting that I liked.

For some reason, I doubt that the prices would vary much from store to store, though. Seems like that would be a fixed price type thing???? I hope these are correct ballpark numbers. I just remember they were expensive settings compared to what I wanted so then I promptly forgot the actual prices.

Sholdt designs won''t quote you a retail price, but will have you ask one of their retailers which I believe are on their site.

I got a quote in the low 2,000''s and thought it was high! I''m probably going to do it, i just wanted a basis for a reference since I can''t find their prices anywhere on the net.

The low $2000''s seems pretty reaonable. I''m surprised that it''s actually that little!! That''s a pretty setting and Sholdt Design seems to be really well-respected. I was just shocked by the price of their very minimalist settings and was forced by the cost to go elsewhere--for $4000, I could get another 0.5ct to my stone!

I found the same thing with not being able to find their prices on the internet, too. Very frustrating. It necessitated a lot of phone calls which I prefer not to do.
