Hi everyone,

This is my very first post and I was hoping that you could help me. I am in talks with a man by the name of Islam Khan for a loose diamond intended for an engagement ring for my girlfriend. I just wanted to know if anyone here heard of this man or company and how respectable he or his company is. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Here''s a link:

I''m NO expert, so my advice is as a newbie. We definately need the expert PS''s opinions, but here is my .02: Remember, its VERY easy to make a website look good. Their "Verisign" logo looks like a cut and paste job to me. I could be wrong, but I think its supposed to link the their site? Their prices seem a bit TOO good. I am more internet savvy than jewel savvy, so my advice comes from that end. Anytime you get something from overseas, you are taking a risk. To my knowledge, what laws we do have in the US that protect you from fraud, do not apply- or are hard to enforce when dealing with another country. Good luck! And now, the experts of PS can give you their advice...

I''m sorry I don''t know this website, but I wanted to give you a bump so that someone can help you.

I guess buyer beware comes to mind for me. Never heard of him before. But I buy only from PS vendors that are in the US. Good luck.

All I can offer is my own experience. I purchased a nice aquamarine from a vendor in Thailand, it came in, looked nice, so I had it set in a custom basket setting as part of a necklace for my girlfriend. The necklace had 2 other stones, both of which were certified, and I decided to have it appraised for insurance. The appraiser notified me that the thai stone (the largest and most expensive) was in fact glass. This was several months after the purchase, and the vendor had disappeared with no way to contact him. I will no longer buy stones from vendors that I cannot verify. It''s just not worth the risk, plus having to tell your girlfriend that one of the stones ended up being a fake. Don''t do it.

Wouldn''t consider for one minute sending my money to someone out of the country. No way to get an independent appraisal even if you thought he was legit.

Go up to the top of this page and look under Resources. There is a nice long list of vendors there and you can do searches to see which ones are well respected by consumers on this forum.

Ok so what kind of diamond were your looking (shape, size, color, clarity, angles, ect) at and for what price if you don''t mind me asking, only because that would really help us determine the "Too good to be true" deal, but personally it would have to be a cold day in (fill in the blank) before I purchase something outside the PS vendor list online. (But hey that’s just me)

Hope this helps.

ditto for me too.

Hi Guys,

Apparently this individual has several yellow green cushion diamonds in the 2ct range that I am vary interested in ranging from $8,500-$12,000. He's listed on several internet directories...but nothing with any kind of feedback...I wish there was something like a resellerrating.com for diamonds...of course this site serves that area well...but like usual I'm out for a great deal :)...keep the feedback coming. Thanks everyone.

Just anther note on the other website... (ghoshiexports)... there is a link to amazon.com, possibly to make it look more credible, or to claim an affiliation? Amazon does not have a store or affilation with them... so this is another thing that is suspicious. It''s your money, but it''s an awful lot! I would RUN, not walk away from this deal.
