My grandmother gave me this beautiful necklace and I just would like to know some history, authenticity, age and worth of the necklace. I am not looking to sell it I am just looking for some info! Thanks in advance.

It's a beautiful squash blossom necklace. It could either be very old or a replica. Both are valuable and desireable, with the older being more so. If there aren't any experts here, I'd contact a Native American jewelry store to get info.

PS. I only know about squash blossoms because my mother is obsessed with them.

It’s very beautiful and I’m inclined to think old rather than modern reproduction, so don’t be taking any low ball offers. It could be quite valuable.

Navajo squash blossom necklace, very nice! Maybe from the 1970's.
Probably worth at least $600-$800, could be much more.
I have seen similar ones valued into the thousands. Do an online search for "Navajo squash blossom necklace" to get a better idea.

I believe my grandmother was given the necklace for her wedding around 1953

The designs are traditional so sometimes it's hard to date these things.
It's real nice. A fabulous keepsake.
Is she Native or was she living in the Southwest at the time?
These necklaces were made by the Navajo and other Southwestern tribes, but they really never caught on in other parts of the country.

I believe she was in Illinois in the 50s but my grandfather was in the army so they did travel often. She is not native that I know of.

I have an update! I was able to get some information out of my uncle. He told me that my grandfather traded a gun for the necklace in Indiana in 1960 as an anniversary gift for my grandmother. But that is all he knew.
