Anyone have a Nexus? (re-you can't log out of g-mail on it)

I just got a Nexus and while most of it I love, it has a peculiar trait of not being able to sign out of your G-mail. (You don't need to sign into your Gmail, either. Just click on the g-mail icon and it opens to your e-mails.) Yes, I put a password on my Nexus account so I have to log in to get it going but it annoys me that you can't log out of g-mail. Say you forget to turn it off & have to go away for a few minutes. People wanting to look at your cool new tablet then can go cruising through your e-mails and swipe up those cool stones you were corresponding w. some vendor about (or something worse than that).

Someone told me about something called an app locker or app protector. I searched a bit but am still lost. Anyone know any good ones?

I was on the phone with Google a lot about this today. They said there is no way around it. :angryfire:

Advice? Thanks.

Do you have a passcode on the thing to get into the tablet itself? Bec if so I'd just activate that, and then put it to sleep or whatever when you set it down.

If you go to settings under personal section. Hit security. Make sure the box is checked for "power button instantly locks". This way if you hit your power button it will instantly lock out and you will have to log back in.

Thanks so much, guys. I do both of your suggestions.

Say, though your significant other/mom/son wants to check out your new cool device. Your emails are readily available to them. I'd have to shut the cover quick so I'd have to log back into a guest account which would have a new gmail address, also, according to Google. I'm not a fan of having extra computer junk. Also, it probably looks funny for people to realize they can't use your tablet under your log in. I'd have gotten a Kindle of I knew this. Thanks all, so very much.

Another idea:

I have to research a good app lock. Seems, however, it (the app lock) can get (probably marketing) information from your tablet & write to your tablet, also. I bet in future years they will just make things password protected (like your regular PC) (duh - like they didn't know people wouldn't like this) (can you say - payoff to the App Lock companies).

Anyone know a good, free app lock program?

Tx.
