Anyone have a comparative photo of a 1.5 cushion & princess?

Hi ella-I don't have a photo but measurements for fancy shapes can vary widely...so you can't really compare cushion vs princess. Look at the mm measurements on the grading reports.

Well that makes sense. My problem with that is this:
I currently have a 1ct round (6.5mm), a friend of ours has a 1.5ct princess which ideally is also 6.5 mm. However, after doing research on here and comparing the stones, we have realized that the princess of the same mm looks significantly larger because of the larger table. So, that is what brought me to ask about cushions compared to princess cuts. I was just curious. Thanks though! Everyone is always so helpful here!

Well that makes sense. My problem with that is this:

the table should not make the princess look larger...remember a princess is square. so if you compare the actual area...it's something like this

Agreed, it's not the larger table, but you're onto something...despite the mm size being the same, the brain picks up on the extra face-up area that's in the corners and perceives it as larger. A princess will look even larger if you orient it with the corners pointing N/E/S/W (kite-set or star-set).

So a 1ct round will "fit inside" a 1.5 princess? I am guessing since a cushion doesn't have the harsh corners, that a princess will look larger than a cushion of the same mm?

I agree! I have another friend who has a .5 princess that is kite set and it looks much larger than a .5!
