What was the process? Was it a good experience? Just doing research.

I have. It was VERY easy. Done mostly over email. Basically I called them, they had me send them a statement of what happened, I emailed it, they called me a day or two later, said it had been approved and to pick my jeweler if I wanted to choose my own.

I called Mark at ERD, sent my stone and mashed ring back to him, picked a new setting, and JM gave him the go ahead to make my new ring. Then they paid Mark.

It was VERY easy.

NF, thanks. I just got my welcome packet and got kind of nervous reading it. I also added a $1,000 rider for unscheduled jewelry since it was only $15 extra (and figured if something happened to my Tessa ring or my studs I would be covered) do you think that is a good move or should I just scheduled them?

You know that''s a good question, I was wondering the same thing actually. I don''t see an advantage to scheduling them unless the total cost would go down...but I haven''t done enough research on it to know.

This is good to know. I was curious about the claim process with JM. Also, In the event of damage to the setting, I wonder what happens if you don't want to replace with setting ( Let's say you want something cheaper, more expensive e.t.c) or wish to upgrade the stone before replacing the setting? Total loss I could understand a tad easier.

It wasn''t an issue. I didn''t get the same setting, JM just said to pick what I wanted to replace it with and it would be worked out. I could have easily upgraded the stone or the setting at that time too, I just would have had to work that part out with Mark.

Oh, I see. It is good to know. I am still undecided about insurance.
By the way, I really have to start proofreading my posts. My post above does not make any sense.
I''m really sorry about the threadjack,Tacori !

My claim was also mostly done over email, very easy. I chipped my 1.23 ct ACA stone, and they replaced it with a 1.32 ct ACA stone (closest thing in stock at WF at the time, and actually a better quality stone than I originally had) with no additional cost to me. They paid WF directly for the stone. I did replace my setting and paid WF directly for that myself.
