I''m watching it now and I''m totally enthralled!

I noticed it was 3 hrs long, maybe I can catch a rerun. I love Chanel suits, so classy!

YES, DH and I watched it last night. I loved it. It was a great story and sad too.

I watched it last night. I loved it!! And, I knew nothing of her personal life or even her real first name, but now I want a collection of vintage hats!

I really knew nothing about her collections and I was astounded that she began with hats. Straw hats!! I was picturing myself in those hats and going to the derby. I''d be gorgeous!! I wonder if I can find some pics of the actual hats online......

hummmmmmm, maybe if we google her. I''ll have to check and see. I felt so bad when her true love died. That was soooo sad

i dvr''d it. can''t wait to watch!

she changed the way we think of costume or fashion jewelry....and all those ropes of pearls mixed with colored gems...she had one of the worlds best designers in Verdura who designed the maltese cross cuff bracelets for her jewelry lines in the early 1930s.

After finishing it, I want to know more! I would have loved to see how she made the transition of comfortable, work-friendly clothing during the war to much more elite fashions. I loved the hats too!

Anyone know who the actress was who played the younger Coco? I think Shirley McClain (sp?) did a fabulous job, but I was a little miffed that the younger actress wasn''t even named during the commercials, etc. since I think she was more interesting to watch.

Damn! I missed it!!!

Wasn''t she the one, who invented the short jackets????? I wish they would have a Part 2, to that movie. There was so much more to learn.

Irishgirl: They will be showing it again. Check your paper.

She didnt invent the short jacket...she re-cut and re-invented it... and the business suit worn by the new career woman at the time. She changed the attitude about how the average women dressed and used accessories to change the look.

YES, and so Classy; the essence of Class for sure! I LOVE the suits, I took up sewing so I could one day make a Chanel inspired suit!!! One of my friends mothers is an awesome seamstress and made her a Chanel inspired suit after taking a 2 day long class on the suit technique. The suits are amazing and have the best details like the lining, buttons and trim, etc.

I''m actually waiting to see the silver screen version with Audrey Tatou (LOVE HER!) linky. I wasn''t planning on watching the Lifetime version, but based on your strong recommendations, I''ll have to try and watch it!

I love fashion, I love Chanel, and I love movies.

I thought the treatment was strictly "made for TV shlocky" and almost as bad as a Danielle Steele novel

I suppose I would have preferred a little more substance. Shirley MacLaine sleepwalked her way through the script. Must have been time for another mortgage payment or something

Hehe, a constructive review! This is the reason why I was avoiding the Lifetime version...

The younger Coco was played by Barbora Bobulova.
