Anyone else ever think diamond is overkill?

What does FWP mean?

I am assuming it refers back to Deco's "First World Problems" statement?

Yup. It's a pretty common way to rib someone in my circle of friends... so I was saying, when PriceScope "/first world problem"s you, you know you're being a brat!

Personally, anything that is not eye clean drives me nuts, but h or i in color doesnt bother me... however, i wouldnt turn down a AGS 000, D, Flawless diamond... big or small if offered one!

I wouldn't pay extra to have a vvs 1 over a vvs2 (all other things being equal).... for me if i cant see it when i hold the diamond 2 inches from my eye, it is clean enough for me! but to each his own!

And when it comes to size... :naughty: i am sure lots of people would think i do overkill, but when you wear a size 9 or larger... you really do "need" a bigger ring      (yes first world problems)

I think I would be happy with a nice 1 ct stone if I didnt have hands the size of bear claws... ( ok... um, maybe not :naughty: )

I thought Deco was being clever and original. I had no idea it was a "thing" ... I'm so not up on pop culture! Oh well.

I'm not sure if I understand what you mean but this is how I interpret it. For me, if I was selecting a diamond I would have minimum specs for the diamond (color, clarity, cut quality). As long as they fulfilled the minumum and were in budget I would consider it. So for example if I wanted a minumum of H, SI1, I could end up buying a D SI1 or an H IF, I would be comfortable with either, though I would definitely prefer something more in the middle like G VS2.

I don't like if things are too unbalanced, like a j colored IF, or a D I1 diamond, etc, where it seems like a waste because the other quality is detracting, and I could imagine there would be a small market for these kinds of stones, because the kind of people looking for an IF are not going to accept a J colored diamond (but I could be wrong).

Personally as long as they fulfill whatever my personal minimums, I don't see anything visually detracting, and the stone as a whole is attractive and appealing, I wouldn't care as it's all a moot point once it's paid for.
