I saw it start to finish and was really surprised to see how much weight the majority of the cast was able to lose! Jerry was unstoppable! Good for them!!

If you caught it, what did ya think?

My thoughts:

1. Kristin looked gorgeous!
2. Helen looked so much older. When she first started, she looked to be in her late 30s, early 40s. Last night she looked in her upper 50s.
3. Mike did such a great job in losing weight. I was really proud of him.
4. It seemed like they took forever with everything and then they said "Helen is the Biggest Loser...good night" lol

It did seem like that. I sort of felt like they were gearing up for Tara to win and then Helen walked out all skinny, and it was over LOL. Did you think it looked like Tara knew Helen had it beat? I mean Tara looked beautiful but she didn''t look like she lost much weight from the last episode at the ranch. Maybe I''m wrong...

Kristen definitely looked amazing. From where she started, unbelievable! And Jerry...I was in awe. I do agree that Helen aged...maybe she lost too much weight, too fast? Her face looked deflated. I guess that happens to older people who experience rapid weight loss, because Jerry and his wife had some of that going on too.

Mike looked really handsome. He''s a great guy. The cousins (Sione and Filipe) looked great too. Sione looks like he''s a trainer himself now! Not bad

I agree! It was weirdly anti-climactic after Tara stepped on the scale! I only watched the last half-hour, but that''s the best part!

I love that show.

I absolutely love this show- but they are really pi##ing me off with how much they stretch everything out now... a 3 hour finale!?! I was so upset when I found out about that because I have to be asleep by 10-10:30 in order to not be a zombie at work!! I didn''t get to catch the last hour, but I did see Jerry kick everyone''s butts!!! And the weight loss does seem to age some people- Helen looked older, and Estella and Jerry both looked 20 years older just because the skin wasn''t stretched taught. Can''t wait for next season!!!

My FI was so annoyed because I kept asking him to stay with me and watch certain people as they came on stage. Finally at 10 he''s like "It''s not ending until 11!" So he went to bed and I stayed up.

I actually enjoyed that it was 3 hours but I was so disspointed that what I really wanted to see (which was the end) was so rushed! Sitting there waiting for two hours to see the finalists and then they announce Helen won and that was it! Oh well.

The show is great. This season started off slow for me because I just wasn''t loving the cast, but slowly I started to get into it. I really love seeing their transformations and how happy they are to get the chance to start over and make changes to improve their lives. It''s like watching a flowers bloom.

Biggest Loser is seriously one of my favorite shows :)

Here''s my finale thoughts: I think it''s interesting how facial features really change when people lose a ton of weight. Helen''s face looked a lot softer when we was bigger, and I think the reason she looked older was because of the extra skin (same with Jerry).

I don''t think that dress did ANYTHING for Tara (it made her look hippy) but she looked great on the scale and her loss was nothing to sniff at. Yeah, I think she knew Helen had won, and I kinda wish she would have changed the order so she could at least appreciate her loss instead of it being "HELEN YOU WON!" I think Tara was down 125 lbs at the end of the show? 140? so she''d lost about an additional 20-30 lbs at home (not a lot in the whole biggest loser scheme of things).

My biggest ? - how come Helen didn''t have her daughter working out with her??! I kinda felt bad for her daughter - they did make a choice to leave Helen there, but the discrepancy was pretty big in terms of their compared weight loss.

I can''t help but wonder with Jerry''s loss if he did it "right" - I mean, the guy could barely exercise. Were they just starving themselves? I really hope not.

I''m really glad they cut the Joelle/Carla thing down. Nobody needed more drama and I''m glad they did lose some weight - about comparable to the other contestants. What made me sad was the two "biggest" guys - the one (Daniel?) lost a nice amt, but it seemed like the other never "got it." And...while I kinda like Mike, I pretty much despise Ron (I know he was "playing the game" but I hated how he was so two-faced), so I''m really glad that Jerry won the at home.

This annoyed me. When she pleaded with the cast to send her daughter home and let her stay, I was like, "Whaaaat!?"
11.gif
If that were me, my mother wouldn''t even think to let me go while she stayed and took advantage of the time on the ranch. Although her daughter lost weight (she looked great!), she hadn''t lost much in comparison to moms. It seemed selfish IMO. And maybe it wasn''t, but that''s how I felt about it.

Ron is most certainly out to win, that was clear. He didn''t fool me for a second. I hope they can help Max (the son/brother). He looks like he''s desperate for help.

There''s always one or two each season that come back and end up losing a small amount of weight. I think last season or the one before, someone only lost about 14lbs. I think that knowing I have to go back to the finale would make me work harder just so that I can at least say I didn''t take someone''s spot just to remain overweight.

I agree with Tara''s dress. I think Tara was really expecting to be the winner though.

I think when the contestants go home, they probably stick with the exercise but don''t eat well (too few calories).

fiery, you summed it up perfectly!!!

1. Kristin did look fabulous...she was glowing!

2. I kept commenting on how old Helen looked. I think I was watching Oprah (or maybe not) and the guest (whoever it was) was talking about keeping on an extra few pounds to puff up your face a little. Helen''s face looked hollow because she''s so freakin'' skinny now! I was pretty amazed at how great she looked but I couldn''t stand the way she was standing/posing. uggh! I agree that it''s sad there was such a large discrepancy between how much Helen and her daughter lost. No teamwork there....

3. Mike looked wonderful. I was beaming as if he was my little brother!

4. The Mori dance Sione and Felipe did was amazing!!!

5. I''m so glad they featured Bernie at the very beginning. He''s my favourite BL contestant of all time...

6. Tara looked great but it didn''t look like she had lost a lot of weight from the time she left the ranch to the finale. Apparently she lost about 20-30 lbs but like others mentioned, maybe it was the dress. After seeing Helen, I knew Tara didn''t win...but heck, she won TWELVE challenges (= great prizes and tons of cash!)!

I loved that too!

I agree that Helen could stand to gain a few now. It''s interesting that so many people are unhappy about her winning. I was reading some thoughts on another forum and quite a few people are more than annoyed by Helen''s win! They were expecting Tara to take the prize, and think it''s unfair to base this win solely on percentage of weight--but that''s how the game is played. Clearly Helen kicked it up to lose that much weight.

Regardless, I''m excited to see the cast for the next season. I love the show.

Wow, I too thought Helen looked a little bit "off". I''m wondering if she did some kind of starvation diet to be the winner. Maybe it was because she is older like some have said, I don''t know....she just didn''t look healthy to me. Tara and Mike looked really healthy to me and I wish one of them would have won it.

Honestly, Tara expected to win. Until Helen was weighed, then Tara could do the math, and you could see in a fake smile that she knew that she lost the competition. She didn''t expect for helen to lose weight and drop into a BMI of 17-18 at 117 pounds and be medically classified as underweight just to win, she was porbably banking on Helen to stop at a healthy weight of 120-125. Tara had a nice healthy BMI of 20. I''m sure she was shocked to see Helen''s dramatic weight loss... but... with a $250K prize... some people will make choices that aren''t necessarily the best, for a quick payoff.

I do think Tara would have made a better role model than Helen. Helen appeared rather selfish in not talking her daughter into staying at the ranch, and encouraging her to push herself.

Also, DAN IS AWESOME. I wish they paid him more attention, and said, hello, he lost 150 pounds and the majority of that was OFF THE RANCH! So you don''t need the ranch or the biggest loser game show to be a success... the tools are there for you at home... you just have to find the power within yourself to make that change.

The real irony is that Ron seemed so motivated by the money. Had he really wanted to save his children, he would have gone home, and helped his other son get a nutritionist, medical clearance, and a personal trainer... when telling Aubrey that she could just go home and help her dad... but the irony is that had ron not asked america to save his son, mike would have left with the at home prize of $100K. But that said, I was really happy that Jerry won.

What a LONG AND DRAWN OUT SHOW... and asking america to choose a contestant after only a snippet of info.. that is just cruel.

Yeah I didn''t really get that. I don''t see how watching them exercise for 30 seconds would be enough for people to vote

.

To be honest, even though Ron was sneaky the entire time I thought his love for his son was inspiring. Every time they hugged because of each other''s acheivement I would get all teary eyed.

tlh -- did you figure out their BMIs or was it publicized? I don''t even remember seeing their heights anywhere... Helen did look VERY thin.

What I wonder is now that these contestants have to exercise for, like, 4 hours a day, do they all have to become personal trainers - or do they just spend all their free time at the gym? How does that fit into a normal life?

I have a friend who was maybe 30lbs overweight and exercised very little, and then she started training and is now very muscular but scarily underweight -- and she goes to the gym for about 4 hours a day, even when she''s ill. Yeah, it''s bad. I guess Jillian was trying to teach moderation to Tara, but is that realistic?

That was bizarre. Both girls clearly want/need to be on the show. Why make America vote? It was sort of odd, thinking back.

BIGT - NBC publishes their heights and weights, I just did the BMI from there.

Fiery - I do agree with you, the love ron feels for his son is very real and is NOT faked. I wasn''t trying to imply that at all... but there was a LOT of game playing on his part. However, as a parent, I don''t see how you WOULDN''T want the best for your children... which is why, even though shannon was unhappy and wanted to go home... I don''t see why Helen wouldn''t have tried to "save her" like Ron did the entire season for mike.

BIA - I also felt like with those 2 girls, having them fly out to CA for the finale, just to have America choose between them... HOW HORRIBLE... I mean, if the show just didn''t pick you out of 1million entires, ok, not as bad a feeling of REJECTION... but when america says... hmm we think the other girl DESERVES it more? Please! SHAME ON NBC! i hope they surprise us, and put them BOTH on the show. Everyone knows, Jillian doesn''t wear midrift bearing shirts when she''s REALLY working someone out... she''s wearing cargo shorts and a fitted tee screaming bloody murder at them....

I can finally speak on this as I didn't watch it live.

1. A 3 hour episode, are you @##!@#$ kidding me? The 2 hour shows are long enough. Thank God I DVR'ed it so I could skip through the mumbo jumbo.
2. Allison is getting hotter by the second.
3. What in the hell was Mike wearing? Did NBC pick that outfit or did he go to Express for men? I'm sorry guys, but he had no business wearing clothes that fit that tight. I know he's lost a lot of weight and looks fantastic, but it was obvious he was "sucking in" in order to try to pull that metro look off.
4. I know Helen looks great too, but I think she actually needs to gain a few more pounds. Her nose does not look good with a skinny face.
5. Tara looked awesome but that big hair and dress needed to go.
6. Holy chit, wtf got into Jerry? He looked incredible. Me thinks he was up to something because when they cut him from the show he didn't look anything close to how he did on the finale. Also, he was a little too enthusiastic with all the arm pumping and what not.
7. LOL at some of the people who didn't lose any weight. Don't get me wrong, I'm not making fun of people who struggle with weight loss. I know it's not easy for some and I empathize with them. However, I don't see how they didn't have enough motivation knowing they would be weighed in at the finale on LIVE TV. Oh, let's not forget about that little 100k winner thing either.
8. Screw Dane and his cheating self. I don't know if any of you know it but when NBC showed Dane running that marathon with his wife, he actually cheated to get to the finish line. A woman saw him getting picked up at mile 17 and dropped back off at mile 23.

Overall,I think it was a good season and I hope everyone stays motivated enough to keep the poundage off for as long as they live.

Ok, so it was last months news and Tara should have won (imho) but Helen''s too-skinny @ss won it when I thought she looked downright awful...anyhoo that aside, what shocked me more than that is that I read today, that Felipe accused Jillian of using drugs with her team to speed up their weightloss, WTF!!!!

I have watched this show religiously since it started, in the US, UK and Oz and there is no-way Jillian or Bob or any of the other trainers would ever dream of using drugs, just think its really dangerous how things can be blown out of proportion with one snide comment from an individual.
