ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — A 5-week-old Siamese kitten is recovering after surviving a nearly three-hour ride while stuck inside a the grill of car traveling from Western New York to northeastern Pennsylvania.
Jenna Arsenault, community coordinator for the Bradford County (Pa.) Humane Society, said a couple from Florida left Rochester after visiting family on Sunday and headed to Ulster, Pa., 145 miles northwest of Philadelphia.
Upon arriving in Ulster, the couple heard meowing coming from the front of their Mazda and found the kitten inside the grill. After removing the grill, the couple warmed the kitten with a heat lamp before contacting the Humane Society.
Arsenault says the kitten, now named Mazda, will be put up for adoption.
She says the Florida couple, whose names weren't released, didn't know how the kitten got into the grill.
