I would like someones advise with item number 2683455191 off of ebay.ca. Is there anyway that this diamond is eye clean. I have no idea and would love the help of ANYONE. thanks in advance

Welll.....

First off...is it SI3 or I1? Diamonds with certs don't cross ranges like that. It's either SI3 or I1. What could be the case is that EGL would grade it SI3 and GIA would grade it I1...maybe that is what they mean.

In any case, I1 has some possibility of being eye clean. If the inclusions are WHITE, then they are much more easily hid by sparkle. But if they are all over, then the diamond may look cloudy white which is not good.

The pictures themselves look pretty nice, even the side view angled ones which show good sparkle in the stone.

The thing that bothers me is that there is NO top down picture of the stone (e.g. looking head on)...why? That leads me to feel like maybe there is an inclusion in the middle or similar that would be visible in any top down picture?

Though asking us doesn't really make alot of sense just yet, I would email the seller and ask him for a top down picture and also ask for a copy of the diamond grading certificate to see where the inclusions are. Also ask if he will guarantee that it's eye clean and if so, get it in writing. Then maybe, its worth a chance. For $500....it may be a bargain, but without more information, you won't know for sure. Hopefully the copy of the cert will tell you more too.

Have to caution though, eBay *deals* like this are up there for a reason. If this is a jeweler, why is he selling a supposedly very good make stone for $500. When it will retail for more like $1000 (forget $1950, ridiculous amount). Something to consider.

Good luck.

WOW!!!!!!! Thank you sooooo much for the information. I could have used you guys in the past. If you have a second I would like to ask you another question. This ring is for an engagment. I have explored several options. I am going back to school in September and want to put a ring on her finger before I do. Should I wait and save for a few months and buy a .55k SI1 E in colour with a lucida band for 2000, or buy something like the ring in question(if it is eye clean)? thanks again for your

First off, Lucida bands are only sold at Tiffany and they only sell this WITH the purchase of one of their diamonds. There are replicas out there, but just figured I'd be sure you knew this first. Tiffany stones are overpriced, so if you are on a tight budget, I wouldn't even consider shopping there.

*Personally* I would not invest in a diamond off of eBay. It's too iffy. Who really knows what you are getting, and there is always that whole 'why is a jeweler selling so cheaply on eBay'. It may be different if it was a personal ring that someone was selling for $$ or similar. Then it makes sense to let it go so low.

Plus essentially you could get something like a .55c G SI1 with a great cut which would be stunning, eye clean for around $1500 or similar. Lucida replica maybe $800 in platinum. I would wait and save and know what you are getting. But if you feel strongly about buying now and/or catching a 'great deal'...get as much information as possible from the vendor, but the stone may disappoint you when it arrives. Be sure there is a return policy!

I am soooo thankful there are people out there like you. thank!!!! I will get as much info as i can from the seller and will definitly let you know the outcome.

Kindest Regards
Bryan

Personally, I don't like that they have any negative feedback saying that their diamonds were not as represented. 96% is not a super high positive rating for a company that has fewer than 100 feedback posts.

I bought "H-I" SI2 diamonds from an ebay vendor with a better feedback rating that your guy, and they were as yellow as the sun (graded as "N-O" color). When I called, the seller condescendingly told me that I shouldn't have expected I colored diamonds for that price. It was a pain getting my money back. At one point, the seller had both my money and the earrings, and would hang up on me when I called. I'm lucky that I did get it back, but of course there were all those shipping fees and the emotional stress of having to deal with it. It wasn't worth it. It's true -- you get what you pay for, and if it seems too good to be true, it is.

This is the feedback they left me: "This lady is a crybaby with buyers remorse! Please dont buy from us again!!!!!!" Yes, I would say I had some buyer's remorse, and it was directly related to the scumminess of the people I bought from.

You might want to share your budget and ideas with us. We love bargain hunting and searching what's out there!
