I guess it could be the diamond dealer''s or jewelry retailer''s initial or the trademark but never heard of it myself. I am sure some of the diamond pros here will be able to answer it for you.
If the diamond is lab graded and the inscription is mentioned on the lab report, then the lab might be able to identify the inscription for you. Beyond that, not a clue.
The stone is in an estate ring and did not come with a lab report. The ring was originally purchased from a now defunct local jeweler that sold it without any paperwork and I suspect the stone was previously owned before it came to them.
The "T" initial and numbering is the same as what EGL-Turkey uses in their lab reports.
That would be my first guess.
Second guess would be an in-store inventory numbering system laser inscribed on the girdle, although this would be much more unusual than a lab report number inscribed.
