I just bought an sapphire and diamond platinum eternity band on eBay from a reputable seller with good reviews who has a return policy. It just came today and instead of waiting until Tuesday to take it to a jeweler, is there any way to verify the metal and stones at home? To my eye it looks like platinum and matches my platinum bands while next to it and doesn't reflect any gold tones. I don't have a loupe but the stones appear genuine to my eye too. Any tricks of the trade? Here are some pictures of it next to other platinum pieces:
