Any thoughts on this OEC?

As some of you know, I have been on the OEC search. I was sent these pics of a stone and I am waiting on more info on it - But I figured I would throw it out to you guys to get some thoughts!

It looks like a pretty stone to me! Showing a bit of color in the top pic, to my eye anyway...will be interested to hear more about it, keep us posted!

Its an EGL K so apparently is something like an L/M...?

I think it looks gorgeous. Have it appraised for color but I love the faceting.

I watched the video Jon made for you today. I actually liked the 1.66 the most. I know he ruled it out but the faceting on it was so much more chunkier than the others. I know for fire and sparkle the 1.66 was a dud, but when he was against the window, I loved the chunkiness of it. Are you thinking of the 1.5?

I think it is gorgeous, I love the faceting. It does show some color, but that isn't necessarily an issue depending on your preferences. I personally like warmer OECs, so I absolutely love this diamond.

Oh ok, from the way you said you were getting more info, I wasn't sure if you knew the color...by the way, my comment wasn't a criticism, just an observation! So many of these older cuts have some warmth, just depends on your personal preference. And I agree with other posters that the faceting pattern is very pretty.

I totally agree with this -- thought the 1.66 by the window was the winner of the OEC, even though the other lighting conditions weren't as good. The 1.5 was nice too, but I didn't like the faceting as much.

Although I have to say, when he put the AVR up for comparison, that one stole the show for me.

I think after seeing the video, the 1.66 is out. It might be a candidate for a recut but no news on that until the cutter sees it. The pics are so great of the 1.66 and the facet pattern is nice but the light performance under indoor lighting just wouldn't work for me. I spend about even time in natural and artificial light. Out of the natural OECs, the 1.9 still seems the best deal on price, color, size, light performance, etc -the 1.5 is more expensive and is comparable in a couple factors, but smaller. When the AVR came out, it looked comparable in light performance to the 1.9, just had chunkier light....of course I'd love and AVR, they're just so scarce in the right price/size range.

I think I will get to see some more options early this week.
