Any (repair) experiences with Betteridge?

I need to replace a tiny emerald in and repair my platinum ring

I'm thinking of taking it to Betteridge in Greenwich CT. Has anyone had any experiences with them?

Use Steven Fox, 8 Lewis Street in Greenwich. Betteridge always rubs me the wrong way.

That is a difficult repair. The stone has to be matched and trimmed/cut to fit the mounting. Sometimes they shatter in the process. Don't be surprised if it is expensive.

Love the ring though!

I know Hunt Country in VA has gem cutting in house, I would try them for a quote on the repair as well. An in house gem cutter might save you a bit of money.

For the record, Stephen Fox in Greenwich did an excellent job AND came in under the estimate. I can't even tell which emerald was replaced. Thanks again Motownmama.
