Any reason not to pull the trigger on this 1.5 Round?

Will be having it added to their Harmony e-ring setting with 4 prong clasp.

Have determined that carat > color from my girl, though she is color sensitive, but we've seen "I" grades and they are fine. Had 6 stones in my list and this one was confirmed as one of the top two as far as closer to colorless within the "I"s I'd chosen. It being VVS2 vs VS1 made it a no brainer since the two were the same size.

Any comments would be much appreciated!

If I buy this and she says no, I may need a followup thread for a good lawyer!

Thanks!

Looks great to me. Its an ACA so those seem pretty safe generally. Looked around at WF and didn't see anything that looked better in your price range - was looking to see if you could get a lower eyeclean clarity rating and save money but didn't see anything.

Good luck and Congrats! :appl:

Were the VVS2 and VS1 priced the same? Because seriously, you can't see inclusions in a VS1, so you are paying for something invisible when you go to VVS. ACA's are great stones, though, whichever you choose!

Thanks for the responses! :)

I hear you on the VVS2 versus VS1.

Really, all the stones I had in my compare list were 1.505 up to 1.567.

The women from Whiteflash had a gemologist look at the 6 on my list, and found that the 1.511 and a 1.548 were the two best in terms of color. Those two were $30 apart in price, so non-factor.

She felt it was a no-brainer to go with the VVS2 over the VS1 given same price, and literally .05mm difference in size.

Here is the 2nd stone below in case something stands out that leads anyone to think it would be a better purchase. Ultimately, I'm thinking these would pretty much be identical to the naked eye either way. Again, really appreciate the time you folks take to look at this and reply!

Both would be great stones! I agree that it is great to get the VVS for about the same price as the VS1! But I would still ask them for a side by side photo just because I'd want to be sure the size difference was not able to be seen. It probably can't, but it does no harm to look at them, and I always like to have two to compare.

I just looked and the VS1 does have fatter lower girdle facets (76) which I really like. You can see the arrows are narrower (lgf 78) in the VVS2. Again, both will be gorgeous, but I think it might be good for you to see the two next to each other.

Heh, and I thought I had it all figured out!

Looking at the two again, and with the researched spurred by your comments, I do indeed see the effect of the lower girdle percentage on these two stones. The 76% has thicker arrows, which I guess would increase contrast/fire, versus light return from what I've read.

I do notice on the VVS2 that the Aset pictures show a lot more blue on the arrows, especially on the inner shafts. Not sure if this is simply a matter of when/how the pictures were taken, or if there is a significance to this.

Lol, well I guess more research while I wait for the line of credit to go through!

Ok, so they were kind enough to take a side by side shot.

So this is the final chance to make any distinction based purely on visual appearance. Well at least via a single photo lol.

To me they are both gorgeous, not sure I can go wrong either way.

Would be so much easier if there was a nice big cloud in the middle of one of them to make my mind up for me! :D

I'd take the VVS2 since I prefer the thinner arrows for some reason. I think its a personal preference question at this point so thats all your decision - they are both beautiful!
