There are so many optionis and so much information and I'm exahusted from looking. I have $4200 to spend and I want to get the best looking Round cut diamond I can find. Quality comes before size. I've looked at every combination of specs that exist. Any suggestions from an expert?![]()
AGS0''s are not the only ''finely cut'' Diamonds out there..., as a matter of fact..., its just ONE example of many options out there!Date: 6/5/2009 8:46:15 AM

You have a conflict in your goals. The ''best looking'' diamond will likely not be a D color and Internally flawless stone, However, it must be finely cut, such as an AGS0 graded rock. If you truly want ''quality comes before size'' then only D-IF would make the grade.
You may want to think about what you want versus what you describe. Most people on Pricescope seem to want a finely cut diamond with reasonable compromises in color and clarity. F-H color and VS1 to SI1 is probably the sweet range for high quality color and clarity.
This may help you target with more security.
It is showing a little leakage in the IS image and is borderline steep/deep. It is a well above average stone, but I wouldn't call it exceptional based on the IS.Date: 6/5/2009 10:06:46 AM

What about something like this?

Its a nice diamond, the angles are a bit on the steep and deep side with what looks to be a small amount of leakage in the Idealscope image - but it might not be visible in real life.Date: 6/5/2009 10:06:46 AM

We can certainly suggest some diamonds but as their inventory isn't up and you need to enquire, I wanted to mention this vendorDate: 6/5/2009 10:39:01 AM

Wow you guys are great. I think I'm going to go with an H&A cut, H or better, and VVS2 or better for around $4200 (just the stone). Any other suggested stone will be appreciated. I will probably pick one that is suggested on this forum.
I think he said he wants VVS2 clarity or better SC. Those look nice though.Date: 6/5/2009 10:44:29 AM

This one falls outside your clarity parameters a smidge, but if you felt like maximizing size some, maybe this one would be a decent choice? (To my untrained eye, those seem like tiny tiny flaws in the micro images, but it could also just be that an H-VS1 ended up being our choice for my Ering. lol.) Perhaps the experts might not favor this stone tho?

That''s exactly the type of diamond I''m looking for. Anyone else have any more detailed thoughts on this diamond or know of any that are comparable? Thanks ksluice.Date: 6/5/2009 11:04:44 AM

That is a great diamond Ksluice posted and it could be a great choice if you are in fact ok with lowering the clarity, VS1 should be totally eyeclean.Date: 6/5/2009 11:17:32 AM
