sandystone1,
Please don''t make a blind buy.
Try to have another vendor call on the stones you are interested in.
Understand that documents are good but not enough to judge a diamond, even for an expert.
As you see, a lot of people on the forum prefer the 34.5 crown.
Personally, I saw a number of diamonds with a 33.5 crown that pleased my eyes MUCH more than others with a 34/35 crown.
I even saw a few diamonds with 32.5 crown that looked better to me than diamonds with the traditional Tolkowsky proportions.
Whatever, it''s a matter of taste.
Rounded pavilion and crown angles won''t guarantee you a beautiful diamond.
Rounded star- and lower girdle length neither.
What GIA calls F color could probably be a G-H to the eye of an appraiser.
Beware and give your money what it deserves.

I also know that a lot of people buy diamonds deeper than 61% without regrets.
I don''t. Again, it''s my personal taste and I must admit that some are really breathtaking.
But I think you should not buy a diamond that is deeper than 62%.
It''s obviously cut for weight retention.
From what I saw, such a depth kills scintillation.
Other forum members will perhaps lapidate me ... I''ll assume.

Thanks Stephan.

I will try to call other vendors but it is hard to find exact specs & prices. So if you dont have much choice which stone would you go for? 1, 2 or 3?

Without pictures, I wouldn''t buy anything.
From the numbers, I prefer number one, all the other forum members would buy number two.
Did you ask another vendor to call on the two diamonds?
If you accept to pay the shipping back to bluenile, I''m sure you will find a diamond dealer that will take the pictures for you and send back the diamond you don''t like.

Do you know any vendors who would do that or do I have to call Blue Nile and set up things through them?

Thanks
Sandy

Bluenile won''t help you.
If you have the money for both, you can pay both, ask an appraiser opinion and send the diamond(s) back.
Perhaps, (I say perhaps) Whiteflash could call on the diamonds for you, just try and ask them.
Having new customers is always a pleasure, especially if they buy good quality diamonds that could qualify for the upgrade policy.
If you don''t try, you won''t know.
Whiteflash has extreme good relationships with customers.

Sandy, are you opposed to working with a different online vendor? I ask because there are several who can do pictures, Idealscope and/or ASET images.

I''m guessing on your budget, but here are a few examples:

1.37ct G VS1 from James Allen for $10,640 - http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/G-VS1-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1193776.asp?b=16&a=12&c=77&cid=131

1.55 ct G SI1 from Whiteflash for $13,715 - http://www.whiteflash.com/hearts_arrows/Whiteflash-ACA-cut-diamond-1848225.htm

1.59 ct H VS2 from Good Old Gold for $14,213(by bankwire) - http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/4833/

Girlie-girl,

Thanks for the reply. Actually I checked all of these websites and if you see around 11000 - 12000, their are not whole lot of choices. Also, BN has good payment options where you dont have to pay for another few months and you can easily save around 500 - 1000 even if you have money to pay. The only -ve thing is the lack of images.

Let me be devil''s advocate.
You will buy without picture, true?
Number 2 is perfect on the paper for most of the people here.
But:
- number 1 will look bigger
- number 1 is cheaper
- number 1 is cleaner

You're welcome, just wanted to make sure you knew of the other vendors.

If you'd like to buy from BN, I'm with QueenMum and would pick #1 for the same reasons just listed... even though most everyone else said they'd go with #2.

LOL Honestly though, they're likely both going to be pretty.
