Hello All,

After much reading and debating, I finally purchased a diamond from GOG. It is 1.10ct round, G, SI1, H&A. The ISee2 results are a 9.6. I haven't seen it yet, but you can view it at the link below

Jonathan says it is a great stone, but I guess I am just looking for some reassurance and opinions from all the diamond lovers out there

Hopefully, no one will have much criticism about it, but I am looking for the good and the bad...

Any opinions?

Thanks - Razzle

Looks like a real winner! YAY

I ma very unsure wether there might be anything relevant left to improve from this point. All looks great.
As far as I know, Jonathan catters for the perfectionists out there... Are you curious about that ISee2 test ?

Hmmmm, lets see....ideal, ideal, ideal, very high, very high, very high.....sssshhhYEAH. Love it! Nice stone! And you just can't go wrong with GOG. I think the G Si1 is my favorite combination. It really lets you focus your budget on cut while getting a super white and (generally) eye clean diamond!

(My first post btw...yippee!)

Congrats!

Razzle,

Looks like a beautiful diamond. I just received mine from GOG last week... i'm wearing my ring now and the stone is beautiful. If Jonathon says it's a great stone...it will be. I'm sure you and your soon-to-be fiance won't be disappointed.

BTW, how did it go with the setting issue at the mall store?
Also...don't forget to post pictures when the ring is ready. I would love to see the setting you picked out.

Hi Razzle,

Congratulations...By the looks of the LS and Hearts & Arrows images the stone looks to have excellent contrast...

Jontahan's service is top notch and his criticizing eye when stocking inventory is right up there, being he's one of the best vendors on the net...

Can't wait to see photos..Congrats.!

Karen,

I searched many other stores and websites, but I could not find a ring that had similar sized side diamonds as the one in the mall store. So I decided to just go back in and tell the woman who had been working with me that I had narrowed my choice down to two settings. I told her that if she could bring down the price, I would definately choose their setting. She told me she would call the owner and get back to me the next day. She did call me back, and the owner actually wanted me to come in and meet with her...I was told they would match or beat the price of the diamond I had told them I was looking at. Well, I had already purchased the diamond from GOG a few days earlier, and since I appreciated the help from Jonathan and the great info they provided about my stone, I told the mall store that I was going to keep the stone I had purchased. The saleswoman was very understanding and told me she would call the owner back for a setting price only. They dropped the price $200, which ended up in a range that I wanted. I still think it is overpriced, but I definately wanted this particular setting. As for the platinum prongs, several experts told me that the six-prong gold wouldn't be a problem, so I am keeping the gold prongs. So now I am just waiting for the diamond to be appraised and mounted, then my baby will be home!!!! I can't wait to see it!!!!!

Thanks everyone for your help through this process.
