any of you ladies own expensive shoes?

How do you ladies wear heels? I swear, I can wear them for 10 minutes before my feet kill me. It's a different story if I'm drunk wasted, then I don't feel my toes so I don't mind. But I can't wear them to work for a shift at all. I've tried those gel insoles, and it doesn't help much :knockout:

Maybe that's why I'm not a shoe person? I don't spend money on them cus I can't wear em!!

Most of mine are quite comfy. I can't imagine not wearing heels - when I go out (for dinner, a party, etc., heels are an absolute must.

Oh, and I can chase children in them just fine :wink2:

but can you walk down hill on some streets in S.F.?..

Nope. My Uggs are definitely the most expensive :cheeky:
I don't "get" shoes. Fortunately I have very average feet so I don't have to buy specialty brands for fit.

Speaking of shoes - I (over)heard that apparently too much time in heels can shorten a woman's calf muscles so she can't wear flats comfortably anymore? Terrifying!

OMG, I just had a shoe-gasim looking at the beautiful shoes in Zahra's closet.

This, exactly!!! ::wipes drool from keyboard::

bastecat, your tango shoes are all amazing, but my heart longs for those purple ones! How gorgeous!

Everyone has such unique and fabulous taste in shoes! My mother always told me there is no such thing as an ugly shoe: one must just have the right ensemble to go with it. I'm not always sure that's correct, but it certainly explains where I got my love of shoes!

Thing2-love your boots! I have Steve Maddens which have studs on them but are the same overall look as yours. I really need to get a pair of those. For comfortable well made boots I would spend the money.

Aviastar-I love your boots, too! I don't have any that high but think they look adorable with skirts. Very nice :))

AN- those shoes are so sexy. In my younger days I would have worn those to death!

I can't wear heels anymore due to a health issue. Wish I could  Love everyones shoes & boots :))

Fiorentini +Bakers totally worth it, I swear! They're so comfortable and the interior is lined with super soft leather-you could wear them without socks and they'd still be comfortable! I actually recently converted 2 friends IRL-they liked mine and went and tried them on at a local place and were sold. They were only a tiny bit mad at me for it. :halo:

I went through a designer shoe stage a while ago (Chloe, Repetto, Marc Jacobs, etc.) and they're nowhere near as well made or comfortable as the Fiorentini + Bakers.

I do not, but I dream of Loubies! I would be happy with one basic black pair, as long as they were really comfortable. I have a feeling I may never know if they are truly worth it because while I do love a good pair of shoes, I would much rather spend money on sparklies (at this time anyway) and occasionally bags. I'd def be more willing to drop that amount of money on a good bag that lasted a long time, because I feel like I have bad luck with shoes lasting, though I do love wearing heels and how they make me feel (confidence wise, not feet wise ;)) )

AW! Thanks!

Some of those shoes in Zahra's closet are truly tango worthy!!! It's what we call "Shoe Pr0n" in tango land. :lickout:

Seriously though, the only money I spend on shoes is tango shoes (to hubs dismay). IRL, I wear a pair of Puma sneakers, a pair of Dankso clogs or if it's summer then I wear Dansko sandals....I'm thinking of branching out to some other comfy brand this summer though. :loopy:

Here's a couple of more of my old favorites:

ANother favorite pair, I always get comments on these...

darcos2.jpg

A pair CiF that inadvertently became well known across the tango internet as "Pimp My Shoe" (I added the lace):

I love shoes!!! Especially since my feet, ankles and calves still look good (the rest of my body not so much). I have...

Yves Saint Laurent
Christian Louboutin
Alexander McQueen
Jimmy Choo
Manolo Blahnik
Guiseppe Zanotti
Gucci
Prada
and others

I clearly do not have my priorities straight. I could have had a really nice upgrade or two for the amount I've spent on shoes in the last few years.

AN, those Sergio Rossis are to die for!!

OMG, Zahra... designer shoe heaven!

Here are my McQueens:

I adore shoes!!! But sadly I am a size 5 (5-1/2 if I really love something and am willing to live with a shoe full of inner-soles and heel liners and those thingies that keep the balls of your feet from sliding forward... ). Maybe that's a blessing in disguise becuase I don't think I could afford to support a bling, car, AND shoe habit!

Not yet....but I told DH that I WILL own a pair of CL before I die. I saw an awesome pair of CL boots when we were in Vegas last month. I told DH that if I won $1100 they were MINE! I did not, so they are not :nono:

Zahra - I have died and gone to heaven! What a beautiful collection you have!

All the shoes shown here are gorgeous and Bastetcat has beautiful feet to go with them. Unfortunately, I have wide feet and cannot balance on any heel higher than a 1 inch large heeled shoe (opposite of stiletto). My shoes are cheap, meaning anything that is flat and well padded and costs less than $40.

Yes, clearly heels are not "good" for you in terms of joints, spine, muscles, etc. - studies have proven that. I don't wear heels all day/every day, so I'm not really concerned about damage per se.

Ummm I have about 300+ pairs of shoes  But I think the most expensive pair is around $150ish. For the most part I live in flip flops and sneakers. However, when I used to work in an office building I had many pairs. Before kids I used to be stylish....

Are you saying that you can't find shoes in your size?
I am a 4.5/5 and I can find all kinds of high-end designer shoes. My YSL Tribute Sandals are a 4.5, but most of my collection of CLs, prada, and Chanel are size 5. It is sometimes more difficult to find shoes in smaller sizes, but they are out there, you just have to do a little more searching in some cases.

No, I don't. My most expensive shoes are a pair of frye boots that I got for $180. I am mostly in flip flops or thong sandals. My most comfy heels are a pair of Vince Camuto.

All of you ladies have some awesome shoes and boots!

This is one of my favorite pictures from my wedding last month. My mom helping me get into my gold Manolo Blahniks. :naughty:

My feet are also exceptionally wide (if I were a DUCK I'd be in business!) and I find that the high end designers are typically very narrow. I fell in absolute lust with a pair of Ferragamos a couple of years ago and I momentarily considered amputating a couple of toes to make them work!

^Ah, I see. Yes, many shoes are designed with what I call "Barbie toes"

Deejay, I knew I loved you at first post! I don't have as small feet as you, but I also prefer bling + cars > shoes!!

momhappy - barbie toes... HA!

I love you too madelise

Well if you have Duck Feet-then I'm Miss Double Duck Feet: AKA Bigfoot Duck. I wear a 9 1/2 & they're wide. If DF started this thread because he has a foot fetish we can give him nightmares :Up_to_something:

Hi,

I love the Tango Shoes. I never knew there was such a thing. You are so lucky to be able to dance in those shoes. I m going to email my nieces to alert them to TANGO SHOES.

Annette

Hmmm...I currently have roughly 150 pairs, but before we moved recently, I was nearing 200.

$400+: Emilio Pucci, Casadei, Magrit

$200-$400: Kate Spade, Maloles, Betsey Johnson, DKNY, Calvin Klein, Stuart Weitzman

I typically stick to shoes that are $100+, for example, Jeffrey Campbell, Steve Madden, Badgley Mischka, J Crew, Cynthia Rowley, Kenneth Cole, etc.

Freke do you buy your shoes online? I was curious because I have found that since having children my time in B&M stores is pretty much non-existant but I haven't found any shoe shopping websites that have blown me away.

Comme Il Faut.

Here are some of my tango shoes, which for really nice ones tend to run in the $200 or so range.

Bastetcat, where do you buy these shoes? I like heels, but have a hard time finding comfortable ones. I love that the Comme Il Faut are open toe with ankle straps because they would stay on and wouldn't squish my foot.

Yes. Better deals to be had too! I keep an eye out for stuff on the "sample sale" type websites (Gilt Group, Rue La La, etc) and amazon. I LOVED endless, but then amazon bought it, so that's freaking lame. I also troll the designer's websites. I adore Kate Spade, so I keep my eyes out for her sales and spend entirely too much time on her website. Whenever we travel, I always it up stores and see stuff in person too!

ETA: I should add that I live close to LA, but my city does NOT have any high end shops. So I have to travel or buy online!
