I''m going to have to finance my ring as I WILL be able to pay it off in less than a year, just don''t have the money to pay it all off up front (I know, I know, never fiance a luxury item, but sorry, I can''t wait! Plus, like I said I will be able to pay it off).

I really want to purchase my diamond online from somewhere like GOG but haven''t heard of any online stores that offer financing like some of the other B and M''s. For instance, a store in VA, Charleston Alexander offer 12 months free interest...and w/i 12 months I will have my ring paid off.

Only dilemma is that I believe I can get a less expensive setting and diamond online such as from GOG with probably better brilliance. Anyone know of any online financing options or should I go straight to CA or some other B and M since I can''t wait

i saw some posts about wf having some type of financing but i dont'' know what the terms are. perhaps you could call and ask.

Pearlmans also offers financing...link to policy

ETA: he doesn't list his stones on his website but his prices for ideal cut diamonds are similar to other online vendors. I just purchased and AGS000 from him.

Can you finance a ring through these stores or online stores if I''ve never had a credit card/have no credit, but make a six figure salary (just started work)?

that''s up to the lender...

I wouldn''t think you''d have a problem getting a credit card at that income level. My daughter will be a senior in college and she gets CC offers all the time. You''ll need a high credit limit, so you might have to get someone (like your parents if you are a recent graduate?) to cosign for your first card. But I''d do it that way rather than be restricted to a certain store.

I don''t consider an engagement diamond a luxury item, really. It is something that will have significance for a lifetime and has the potential to be an heirloom. If you can pay it off in a year, that''s great.

Thanks DS, as always you''re a wealth of knowledge:)
