any help would be appreciated

I'm new to this, but I have you asked her what cut she likes? If she is fond of sparkle, she will get more from a round cut brilliant than a princess cut.

And others will likely say the same, but D color and VVS1 are very high grades. You will be able to get lots of sparkle from a lower color and lower clarity grade. So, even though you said the size is not an issue, going a bit lower would allow you to get a larger stone. Having said that, I think most everyone will agree that Whiteflash "Cut Above" stones are great.

ahhh i knew i forgot something, yes we have talked about it and went and looked at rings, I advocated for a larger ring but she has small hands and she said anything over .6 felt weird on her hand. Also that she liked the princess cut for the, i guess you could call it the flatness of it. i had been saving for quite some time for a ring so its nice to now be wayyyy underbudget =P

Also would you say there is a noticeable difference between ideal and a cut above? i have no problem spending the extra on the latter, just want to know if you can tell

Hi everyone. So I'm planning to propose to my girlfriend of 6 years rather soon and i was wondering what you guys (and gals) think of this diamond. She doesnt care so much about size she just wants it to sparkle like crazy. I am hoping this will get the job done

It looks really beautiful. I do agree with the other poster in that you're paying a lot for super high color and clarity. This one's a bit bigger and will still be fine in terms of both color and clarity for the same price, but either one is going to be a beautiful princess.

thank you for all your guys' help.
Have you ever had experience with WF before?

The diamond above that E B posted is a beauty(and not so much bigger than .6 carat your girlfriend asked for). I agree with the others than D/vvs1 is overkill. I would go bigger in size or save money for other wedding related expenses.

I agree as well - the G VS2 is a beauty. And it is only 4.8 x 4.9mm, which isn't big at all. It is a great stone, and people have had very good experiences with WF!

Thats good to hear, I'm slightly concerned buying a diamond on line without ever having actually looked at it in person. However with the idealscope image how concerned should i be if i see alittle bit of white? or if the red isn't symmetrical

Whiteflahs is a very reputable seller, and they have a 30-day money back guarantee on their "Cut Above" stones so the risk is very minimal.

Check out Whiteflash's upgrade and buyback policies. Their ACA line is top notch, they have pretty high standards to achieve that designation. I would not have any concerns about cut with their ACA line. I would however pick the G VS-2 diamond that EB first posted. Your girl will be able to rock that one in no time. ;)

You cannot beat WhiteFlash's ACA line. I think that is a fine choice! However, I am going to say that a .5 princess cut is very small. Do you live in another country where most diamonds are small? If so, then I can understand the .5 idea. But if you are in the US, I would absolutely go to E to F color and VS1 or VS2 clarity and get a slightly larger stone.

There are several I would choose over that D VVS:
